Watched a bike t-bone a bear
Yesterday while on a Sunday drive with family I saw a first, A couple on a cruiser in the opposing lane hit a black bear cub of maybe 100 lbs. The guy kept the bike up, his arm was hurt, girlfriend was ok. They were both understandably freaked out.

Sad for the animal...
We have alot of black bears where I work... I mean many many of them.
One of the coolest creatures for sure.
I saw a guy nearly hit one too.
Scary....

Sad...
Too bad the poor little cub got hit. Im not an animals rights nutjob, but its always sad to see such a cool animal pass away. Hope it didnt suffer much.... I love in N out, but its always sad to see such a unique animal pass away... =(
Glad the bikers werent hurt too bad, either!
I almost got decapitated by a turkey the size of a beach ball. Jumped in front of my bike, looked at me, jumped up in the nick of time. The turkeys feet hit my helmet a little. Glad I DUCKED. LOL. Seriously, that thing would have taken my head off! Im sure that mofe weighed a good 25lbs. i was goin like 45mph, 2-up also mind you. Good thing my lady knows whats up, she ducked too out of reaction! LOL

I guess a bear shits on the road just like the woods. I wonder if the rider of the bike has a turd hanging out like that bear laying there.

Maybe the rider can sue the state for not controlling the bear population? *sarcastic*
Sucks for the bear...never like to see dead animals on the roads.

Ya, that's sad. I'm an animal lover and own a half dozen cats. It pains me to see an animal hurt like that. I hope that it went fast and didn't suffer. They don't know any better - and I've seen way too many animals get killed on the road. Black bears are really cool creatures.
@1bad - I assume the 400LB pig is you? Gotta be scary for sure...holy fuck, what a sight you just put into my head. Ready to  now.

Harleys arent bikes. They're uncomfortable metal couches with bedsprings under your ass if youre hardcore, OR, youve got the pogo stick front end for the normal badboy wannabe. Im sure the 1500lb rider and bike combo fared pretty well compared to the poor little cub.

I was a bit more focused on the couples well being than the cruiser but at a quick glance the damage appeared to be minimal.

bear is second only to venison in taste. I hate to see animals get killed by cars, but if that bear had been a year older it would have been poor people and not poor bear. I say chock that one up as a victory since the humans made it out okay. I've seen some pretty nasty damage done by hogs in NE Texas. A good friends mom got rammed by one and it unhinged the side door on her caravan. they don't know how big it was, but there are plenty of them upwards of 500 lbs where we live. There was one shot a county over in Red River county that weighed 954 lbs.
Imagine if there had been no one around, they had hit the ditch and that cuddly little bears pissed off mother had been around. It could have resulted pretty badly.

i seen a 500lb'er flip a 1ton diesel ford truck .. south central texas area .. i also seen 2 motorcycles destroyed and riders ejected forward 2 separate cases .. i was told it was like hitting a brick wall...bike stops instantly and you go flying .. i almost tagged 1 in the hill country @ triple digit speeds..

speaking of bears i saw special ed up at steak and lube and he got thet one he got hunting with the son mounted and it looks great. remember the bear hunting thread?
