quote: whose valve springs? email me at ni2k6klub@hotmail.com I know where some used pistons are if interested
I believe they were APE Springs from Schnitz. Engine builder stated that it was very rare for valve springs to break. Jus my damn luck now, which is going to cost me a good chunk of money that l don't have, right here in the middle of riding season. I will e-mail you.

MTC makes a very nice piston too, and much less money.
Give them a call and ask for Cliff for any Tech info.
Excellent guy to deal with.
If you call JE directly , they might sell you 1 piston too.

Wanted to update you guys again with more info: Just found out what my fate is with my bike: Heavy Duty valve spring broke, which caused a valve to drop, bent 2 other valves, did some damage to that particular piston (JE Piston), did some damage to the head to where it now has to be welded in a particulare area, around the seat, seat needs to be replaced, need 1 titanium retainer, have to redo the valve guide on the valve that dropped, valve guide hole is a lil larger than it shud be, scarred the cylinder of the piston where the valve dropped. Cylinder has to be sent back to Millineum to be repaired and rebored. Cylinder just got sent out this past Fri, July 3rd. Looking at about 3 or 4 weeks with that. Total repair is going to cost me $3669.00! OUCH! right here in the damn beginning of summer. At that price, you might as well say I jus built anutha fucking engine because of a dropped valve. Aint that a Bitch. That price does includes replacing all of the Springs, all new 13.5:1 Pistons, 1 retainer, head weld, seat, stock valves 1 intake and 2 exhaust, rebore cylinder and labor. Suppose to be going to the National Roundup in Atlanta the 1st weekend of Aug. Don't know if I'm gonna be able to make that now.

Call MTC , they will sell you pistons including rings, pins, for less than a set of JE without the stock rings, and they are better ring design IMO, and pistons have much more oil scavenging ports as well.
AT LEAST as good as JE, and alot less money.
