Yes, and Thanks.

They resolved it, upper post of mine:.

"I just received another email, apologizing, and basically stating that's how they make their money off these units, by hiking up the shipping fees, since "tehre is no way you can buy the kit for $29.99 in U.S.A . even the auto zone sell the halogen bulb for $40."

They are offering a refund. ...."

"
if the shipping and handling was $29 and the hid was $29, why did you buy it and then complain about shipping and handling?

wee,

Please don't waste my time here. Read the posts from the beginning so you understand. If you still don't understand after that, as it appears you dont, there is nothing I can do to help you.

The fact that the sellers admit to deception and understanding they should not have double charged, are going to refund the overcharge on shipping, is enough to put this to an end....maybe except for you?

If the sellers gets it, and I (and some others here in this post also seem to get it), that is beyond sufficient and satisfactory for me. (the fact that the seller gets it and is/has corrected it)

That's the last response from me you'll get on anything you post.

JDC,

I've been doing business on eBay for 10 years now. Usually if the seller is advertising a ridiculously low price, I look closely. When the shipping cost is high it usually means that they are making part of their profit on the shipping and "handling".

The way I look at it is that the "handling" fee is what they charge to procure the product from their supplier. Yes, it is a bit misleading...but let's face it...low advertised prices are what causes people to take a look at the ad. Right? It is a very, very common practice.

I also read closely to see if they offer combined shipping. If it is not listed, I ask. The big question is do you feel that you paid more than is reasonable for the product, when compared to what competitors sell the product for? I try to keep in mind that everyone needs to make some degree of profit to stay in business.

The sellers are going to refund your money because they don't want negative press/hassles. Probably not because they feel you are "right". I doubt that they change their policies...after all, they probably can't stay in business otherwise. It would, however, be in their best interest to state that they do not combine shipping. And it would definitely be in the best interest of the buyer to ask up front.

If the price looks too good to be true...it usually is!

Shane

Thats the exact same way that I shop on Ebay. That is the correct way to handle all listings.

i would not buy anything i cared about on ebay, be especially careful of sellers that REQUIRE insurance. i ordered a "brand new tail piece" for the 14 one time, i got it and they had bought a new one and stuck a scratched one in the new bag which they sent to me. when i bitched and sent pictures they said it happened in shipping and that's what insurance is for. it was not worth the hassle. i have the tailpiece but i would get it refinished before i would use it. if i turned it into insurance i would be out the tailpiece but get a refund after much time and hassle.
