HOW MANY FEET ARE IN A 1/4 MILE

There's a straight back road near my house that I want to mark off the quarter.

Its funny you mention down hill, but we have a track close to me in Tennesse (1/8) mile that is 8 feet elevation difference from start to finish. Visually with the naked eye you cant tell. I know that it sounds stupid that you wouldnt be able to tell 8ft in elevation but its not noticable till someone tells you and then your like, I thought it did look different?? Which means I was wondering why my car doesnt run as fast here!!!

I don't know....

1320 feet doesn't sound right...

I don't think it enough.

I guestimate at least a few thousand feet in a quarter mile, maybe more...

Here's the formula:

(5,280 x .25) - 60 = 1,260

The first 60 feet are no longer counted in official 1/4 mile times.

lmfao...
1 mile is 5280.00164153150799474 FT. multiply it by .25 and you get `1320.00041038271295669 ft. so technically it's a little over 1320 ft lol.

My bad....60 foot times will continue to be counted in the overall time. However, reaction time is being waived! The clock will start whenever you decide to go - you can even opt for a rolling start and the clock will start when you cross the start line.

These changes are not official...simply proposals that would make drag racing more appealing to reality TV producers.

Jump ramps and loops are also being considered.

Your crazy, 60ft has to count in your times. Why isn't everyone running better times? Take out 1.35 to 1.80 seconds on every run and everyone would be running 8's thats ridiculous.
