Same thing happened to me on Sunday. The bird ruined the metal screen but it did its job keeping the bird out of the air box. That metal screen inside the intake is a $40 part and a pain to replace.

I hit a sparrow... or something else that small with a car at around
120 mph on the highway a few years ago on an early summer Sun morning.
It got scooped up low- right underneath the licence plate and
it was a major PITA to clean... was no turkey though and nothing broke,
didn't look like that R6 in the pics for sure

So was there enough left for a turkey dinner? Sure looks nasty! I'll take sparrows anyday. We got turkey vultures, white egrets & various cranes who all like to fly low around here. So far (knock on wood) I've managed to duck them or veer around their dumb asses.

I had to clean a small bird that hit top of the radiator once. Some of the rancid meat was found months later throughout the the bike.

Thanks, he was fine.

He was on is way home from school(he's 17) to go for a ride with me.
Luckily, the bird hit right at the headlights and went over his head, spraying him with crap!
He never lost control, stopped put his lowers back together (they were dragging on the ground). Then collected all the parts he find in his jacket and drove home.
Freaked me out when he came in the driveway!

Now we have a set of chinese fairings, windscreen, fairing stay and headlight assembly on order...looks like he's working for me this summer.

I went back to where it happen within an hour...no sign of the bird.
Either a coyote got it or... that bastard is still alive.

We had a guy hit a sparrow at Maxton...at somewhere in the 230 mph range. The people in the tower thought it was a puff of smoke at first!

Had a uncle hit a crow a few years ago. It got him right in the neck and wrapped around his helmet. He was running 80+ when he hit it. He had some bruises around his neck and alot of blood from the bird in his jacket...
