Am I remembering this right?
I ordered off ebay a 08 ZX14 FI sub-harness. It arrived and here is the pic. It connects to a main harness with a 5 pin connector.

Thing is that I don't recall a 5 pin connector on my bike for the FI's. I recall a 16 pin connector. Here is a photo of a 16 pin, same as is on my bike, up along side what was sent.

and a photo of of the wiring diagram from an 06 manual, showing the 16 pin connection...

seems to me the harness sent is not the correct harness. It should have a 16 pin connector?
Without taking the bike apart, am I remembering this correctly?
Thanks.

That is the injector wire off the throttle body main harness. The main harness is what you wanted off the t-body. Someone cut that out of the main harness is one piece all taped up OEM. So, the deal now it to go back an buy the rest of the harness that comes with that connector block you are showing.
Unless he keeps cutting out the harness for every section that makes one harness complete for the t-body.

Dubious,
Yeah..
Bazzaz is a sore subject about their lazy care for the ZX14 wiring harness and ZX14 customers.
I have a Bazzaz AFR unit, and it is a real PITA to install and remove, since most connectors (FI) are in the center of the bike, under the air box, above the FI's, and on the right side. I did a long write up on this on the old forum, which basically said had Bazzaz considered the USERS of this unit well enough, they would have gone for a single 16 pin plug connector, ala PC III, and have taken a 3-4 hours install, down to maybe 30 minutes. But they said it cost too much for a 16 pin connector.
I priced out the connectors (16 pin) and they were I think, just under $5... like $4.78 or something, small bulk. That one connector is in exchange for the 12 connectors they use. My guess is that is about equal for them in cost, and actually in labor as well. It was just the simple investment of the owner to buy some in bulk. Skimp on a floor mat for the MB 500 SLK and Hummer, maybe....
If I recall correctly, this OEM 16 pin connector replaces all 8 FI connectors, 2 speed connectors (crank speed-right side), 2 throttle body sensor connectors (right side), so going down from 12 connectors, both sides and in the middle of the bike, to the one16 pin, which is 5 minutes to plug-n-play, not counting the install of the AFR box. So I have a few extra 16 pin plugs now, and now the FI sub-harness, and I will roll my own. It has taken a bit of time to find the right/full FI sub-harness.
If an issue comes up with their harness, it would be that same PITA to remove and re-install = another 6-8 hours.... round trip. Luckily when I did have an issue, it was a pin not fully inserted (once), took a while to locate, and the other time was their AFB box being bad, which is an easy removal.
So I've made up a schematic for the 16 pin 'adaptor' for their harness, and will be off and going once I get that full FI sub-harness from ebay.
egads.. I am still griped about that harness of theirs. LOL
