blow engine bearing.
Has anyone ever heard of the engine blowing out on the left side of the zx-14 the hold crank broke open. i was told it was a bearing. or the trans. f1 error on screen. i have big pieces of metal out of my bike on one side. wondering what kaw will do to replaced this. From the looks of things. looks like i am going to need a hold new motor.

This is a pic from another thread:

My bike is currently in the shop for something similar, the hole in my case is right above the round silver thing on the right side of the pic above.
The pic below is the best i could get with the motor still in after I got it towed home.

I would certainly hope and expect Kawi to replace it.
Get a NEW BIKE so your season is not ruined, or at very least NEW engine though, do not allow them to rebuild it with new cases and rod.
Unless you have nitrous or turbo, they should replace the engine.
The stock rev limiter should prevent damage like yours unless you down shifted several gears simultaneously, forcing the engine to overrev.
Did you buy the bike new?
what year is it and how many miles?
I would speak with a lawyer, it might be worth a hour of consultation, in regards to the warrantee regulations in your country / state.
Sorry to see it, and good luck.

Looking at the goopy sealant on the pan gasket seam, I would say that engine has been into before.

Doesn't the case use black goop pee? Slam a 1+ on the Dub for a good eye catch. Catch me taking a peek at my case is smells like fraud?
Unless the factory changed goop piss between the case is at mid year? Why is the engine out of the frame is how much custom is custom you have to pull the engine?
Did you pull the engine before or is this first time? Frame painted/powdered is that much custom?
Why, I think they came and filled the pond with some...

Yes, my cases had black sealant, not grey.
Better check with the dealer if you have not been in there.

Your right Bill,
He did say his is in the shop for similar damage, so it sounds like this isn't his engine.

It happen to me and Kaw did not pay for it, I went on Ebay and bought another engine. I must admit, check your oil level, because I was racing and didn't have enough oil in my bike.
