I have been using the supersport in my 1000cc V-twin for 4 months. It is not rated for that large but I have compression releases and It works great. Won't start below 50 degrees with out a quik charge. 3 minutes! Only 11 oz's is nice!

I had not started my zx14 in 20 days and didi it today.
3 consecutive starts with the Speedcell within a minute- fired right up

Cleaned the bike up a liitle, fired it up again and took it for a 30 min ride.

I guess the Speedcell is a trustworthy piece of equipment

So, the general feeling is that the 2-row Speedcell for $250.00 is more than adequate for a stock-compression ZX-14 ???

So would that speed cell battery be good for daily driver . I just pulled my battery had a weak start in the morning for work found corrosion on the ground terminal cleaned it. Hope it was the fix but I think I should buy a new soon.

I do not have any in stock right now.
It has proven to be an excellent battery for daily driver.
I have used it on my dirt bikes, atv, vmax, and will be my zx14.
many have been using ity on their zx14's.

It would be a roomy spot for me to put extra tools in with the extra room next to the speed cell battery for travel also.

You can remove the stock battery tray and the stock battery,

Harry- northernkaw- rerouted his entire harness into the batt(ery) cave, including the cdi, and relays.
He doesn't have anything in the tail section now.

Just to throw this out there:

I have the $250 Superbike model, and it has served me very well. However, on a 35 degree morning (and the bike/battery were just as cold) it did crank very slowly. For street riding in cold climates you may wish to get a larger Speedcell model. I believe they suggest a larger model than mine for the 14.

Nonetheless, it has never failed to start my bike.

I left my 14 sitting in the garage for a month and the Speedcell cranked slow a couple of times after sitting in the cold temps but it's been great so far this past week running again in hot weather away from home and firing up strongly every time.

We're desperately trying to extend our riding season with a week in LA followed by a week in FL. My 14 is not getting winterized this time- I plan on trailering it and riding for a week of every snowy winter month we get here in Boston.

I've had zero issues with my Speedcell whatsoever.

The trick is thay have ZERO internal resistance. Crank it a few times, wait a few seconds than crank again. When the battery warms up it discharges much better.
You are correct though, and I would prefer to see any one riding sub 40f buy the 3 row.
It will still be lazy until it warms up after minor discharge, but has 50% more reserve, and cranking amps
The superbike 8 cell is 4.6 V, ~ 240 amp rating
the 3 row is 12 cells 6.8V, 360 amp rating

The temperature problem is only an issue below 40F
