around a gallon and half in there. less weight. seems to be enough so you dont have a fuel slosh issue. i just fill up as needed.

A general thought is that 30-35 lbs. = .10 in ET. Gas is 6 lbs. + per gallon, and the tank holds 5.8 gallons. So, by running only 2 gallons you could improve your ET by over .05 compared to a full tank.

Why not just leave the bike bone stock? I'm pretty excited if I can knock .05 off of my ET. Plus, if you are consistent it is important to know how weight affects ET...then you are not scratching your head about why you are running different ET's.

Took a look at the instantaneous mpg gauge on the 2 mile runway at Woodbridge last year, up around max rpm in 6th and it said 9mpg. That means I need around half a gallon for a couple of runs plus fuel for the run back on the return road. Lots of stops in the paddock for a top-up in a days racing.

I could never run my 12R that low at the dragstrip...it would starve the pump and kill the engine.

I was not thinking of the weight, but the tendency for weight shift if half full helping to cause wheelies? No?Yes? I agree that weight slows you down but sometimes so do wheelies.

No weight shift at half tank. Look how the tank is designed.

Half a gallon and you might plant your teeth on the triple clamp. That's how hard my 12R cut out and back in, from starving the pump...
