Bought it new in September 2006. Has 11000 miles on it just a very slight valve cover leak is the only problem. The bike is rock solid. Regular oil changes with Motul 300v, changed out brake fluid and antifreez at two years. Still has the original clutch and chain and sprockets and battery. I am on the third set of tires. Changed the plugs out at 10400 miles, the old ones looked and ran fine. The bike is very reliable and runs better all the time. Has not been to the dealer since the 600 mile service and tire changes. Bravo to Kawasaki!

2008 with 12,000 miles. I'm noticing some rust on the tank seams where the paint apparently missed. Speedometer is optimistic, but aren't they all.

Blew out stock suspension and springs at 5,000 miles. Replaced.
Overheating due to radiator screen, installed switch. No problems when I use it.

'06 w/23k+, traded a bmw for it 5/08. Replaced water pump at 18k or so. Valve cover leaks some, too lazy to care. Crash damage: right timing cover & lower fairing, otherwise just normal maintenance, seems pretty durable so far.

Diablo black '07 bought new. 15K. pulsar cover is leaking oil.... it has a big dent in it, it took a good hit when I crashed the bike. Valve cover might be leaking too, I am not sure. Still running the same plugs, air filter and chain. I changed the rear sprocket just because I wanted a lower gear ratio. Zero problems, bike has never been back to the dealer, ever! Nort even for the frame check. The rear tire is cupping real bad on one side, it is strange. My son says maybe it is not straight. The tire will need to be replaced soon any way, it is a Diablo Strada and it has like 5,500 miles on it

Yup the zx14 has proven to be as tuff as dirt .. Sure a few bikes out of a 3 year run have had a problem .. I say the track record for the bike is very good ...I read the Busa fourms also ( suprized ? ) and the 08 09 busas are not without problems either, nor are any other of these mass produced motorcycles .. Seeing the way we ride them i'm suprized we don't see more problems ...

2007 with ~16500 miles so far.

Had a bad #3 crank bearing from the factory which was replaced at about 2k miles. Then smooth sailing until some dumb f*ck bent the valves, still "fixing" that one...

06 red purchased new in june 06 with 26000 miles now
problems with bike:
1. coolant leak from day one due to under-tightened hose clamp, went to dealer twice before pulling the plastics and fixing it myself
2. valve cover leak which was really more of a seep and went un-discovered untill 15k service
3. coating came off front wheel spacer and damaged hub seal at 20k
damages to bike:
1. radiator broken by rock
2. hit a deer last summer which broke every piece of plastic in front of the saddle, headlights and one mirror. no fork damage though and she never hit the ground

i love this bike and will be keeping it for a long time. it does everything i want and does it well
