19,000 miles now on Muzzy stage 1
Just thought you would like to know. weak link is the suck cam chain adjuster. 250 miles on the APE and a new machine. Windscreen doesn't vibrate on idle, smooth as silk again. Power is a little stronger maybe this Friday will tell at the street bike comp. By the way, will be the only one riding in, instead of the trailer. Street bike my ass.

I see this all of the time. People imply that because you took your bike to the track on a trailer, it's not a street bike.
The reality is that if you beat on your bike without mercy, want to make changes in gearing or setup, etc...you are better off bringing it on a trailer with tools. Not to mention the full leathers and racing gear.
Ever retire a clutch or two at the track?
I can ride my bike to the track without a problem...if I wanted to.

Ok, got me there. Do have a trailer in the event of breaking. Don't see the kind of track time you guys average, your lucky to get in 20 runs in a year because of all the other events that go on at RMR.

Don't forget down here in the deep south it's over 100 degrees so I like to enjoy the airconditoner on the way to the track. If I am going to the local test & Tune nights on thursdays. I will ride my bike to work and then ride to the track. If we go to some of the events at other tracks around I like to take some tools, coolers full of drinks, snacks and a small grill. A generator and a fan for the bike. I could ride it anywhere though.

my STREET BIKE does not break down, and i already know what gear im going to use so i dont need to take a gears with me. I had my bike mapped so the tune is good i got no need for the lap top and i let the clutch go not slide it till the 330' so that clutch is still good for about 150 more passes and no need for stands because im not working on the bike im riding it.

Good for you. You have the one bike made that will never need additonal tuning or adjustment, and will never break no matter how hard you are on it.
Ever pull a data log on your bike after a 190 mph LSR pass to see what the a/f looks like in reality (as opposed to what the dyno said)? And then change the a/f trackside?
All the guys that use trailers must be fools, you have one up on those idiots! Bravo!
I can't wait to tell all the racers using trailers about this new idea!

nope ive never datta log after doing a 190MPH pull, and the bike runs the same from when it got tuned so i feel no need to check it again im not F/I so it should not hurt anything if the a/f changes a little
And no not all the guys that use trailers are fools but there are some that are

I THINK before a bike at the dragstrip is called a streetbike ... Maybe a 20 mile run thru the hills or cone.s course 1st .. i've seen some bikes at the track that couldn't even exit the return road without dragging something and be called streetbikes

Better check that chain also, I am running into a few 14's with kinked chains and one broken, and i know of another broken one. Maybe he will chime in here when he gets done replacing the valves. These are with cams and springs but the chains ain't much to begin with. I have talked to Eddie at V-H ,and when i get him the spec's he may be able to have a hd chain made. Wont happen overnight but working on it..................Bill

Fuck you if you think i'm going to ride my bike to the track and i only live 7 miles from the track ..To damn hot to ride in full leathers in rush hour traffic to go to the track ..I ride on the street but only at night when it cooler and less traffic ..I have never had to work on my bike at the track but it so nice to have a trailer there to have cold drinks , tools if needed and a place to sit in the shade inbetween rounds.. At the end of the night when i'm worn to the bone from 90 Deg temps i jump in my truck flip on my A/C , crank up Led Zepplin, Light up a smoke and smile all the way home .. Oh i allways stop at the Taco Bell drive thu and pick up some food ....Lets see you do that riding on a zx14 ..

I ride my 14 on the street all the time. But I trailer to the track every time. Mostly for the same reasons mentioned. Riding in seems cool. Until you burn up your clutches, wreck or have any mechanical trouble. Then you will be looking for someone to trailer your bike home for you. Guys that trailer in are an asset. They will probably have every tool you will ever need in that trailer. They have extra clutches for sale, air pressure gauges and all the other misc. stuff everybody likes to borrow. The only people I know that ride to the track are people that do not own trailers.

I dont do track, but I do trailer. July will be trailering up to Colorado for a few days in the mountains with 4 bikes. Lotsa good reasons to haul them, dont need no stinking excuse.
