Maybe ......Factorys are going to supercharging over turbos because turbos can't pass the sniff test till fully warmed up , where a blower can .. Up sides are No lag , tons of torq right now ... Down side it takes HP to make HP , No free lunch ..Needs some kind of drive system unlike a turbo, belt ,chain or gear ..
It's possible it may very well be the next step for the zx14 ...2010 ? Works well for Kawi jet skies ... 250 hp ..

Never happen for two reasons;
Reliability and Liability
Anybody remember the Kawasaki 750 Turbo?? Great bike, fast as hell, and fairly reliable. Why did Kawasaki stop making it, and the ZR1 turbo?? Too much power for the day, and the production costs didn't allow them a sufficient profit margin.
Kawasaki already has a top speed limiter on the ZX14(fixed with a speedo healer), there is now way on God's green Earth they are going to give you more power, especially down low, where the average Squid would just kill themselves.

I believe you are exactly right fly. but it sure would be fun. my Dad has an 86 yamaha turbo seca and it is still a blast. deffently one of the more fun bikes to ride that I have ever ridden.

The 14 is much faster than that relic turbo. There is no liability. People cannot get out of that power they just attempted on the cable pull. A mini bike can out ride the best trick steer going. Someone down the road will exceed 210mph and they race the next day.
You sound like the gov. I rhino in their general direction is to save me from myself on dis earth is go scratch year ass IS! > To anyone in control of my life is get a life, GOV inn ear!

I don't know guys , if you have told me 4 years ago they were going to build a bike that ran 8s in the 1/4 miles with just a few bolt ons i would have said bull shit .. Go back to 79 with the CBX , over 100 hp to the crank and we said it will never get better than this ..
Factory are allways looking for the next best thing ..Kawi , zook and the others need to keep us coming back for more, they make no money if we don't buy a new bike every few years ... Sales is what it's all about...Even as bad as things are right now, if Kawi builds a supercharged zx14 they will sell like hotcakes .. I know for a fact i would buy one and take a loss on my 09 and never look back ...Tell me you don't want a 250 HP or even a 225 HP zx14 .....Again go back to 98 and tell you buddies that Kawi is going to build a 175 hp bike for the street and make it a daily driver ..They tell you it's impossible , you will get killed, Kids will die by the hundreds leaving the dealership ...Yet we have it the zx14 ...

There jet skis with the supercharger are pretty reliable and all they have to do with the bike is release it with a pulley set up for 180hp and offer pulleys in the catalog for more boost for track purpose only. they can do it.

There are turbo bikes of the past (Yamaha 650) that proves a modern 600 may fair well with its light and a few extra ponies around the race track too.
I suspect someone will offer us so new technology and HP soon, thes ebikes are getting to be old news.
Aprilia with the new V4 is slaughtering the litre bikes class this year, I suspect we'll see some more 1000CC V4s coming out as well.

The Jet ski has an unlimited cooling and intercooling system... the 14... well it runs warm already. 
They need to shave 80 lbs off the bike first... It can be done....

The highest mortality rate for motorcycles, is the cruisers age 40-70. Bikes like the 14, squids can't afford the insurance. A high number of hyper bikes, like the 14 and Busa are used for the track only. My insurance full coverage is $55 dollars a month and includes the Triumph and 150cc scooter which are libelity only . One of the 21 year old at work wanted a ZX-14 but his insurance would have been $8000.00 a year. The Hypers are not normally owned by squids and when a squid want's one the big buck gets in the way. I'll be 60 this year, my buddy owns a 14 and will be 63 years old. It would be curious to know the average age of a 14/Busa owner.

I really don't mean to turn this thread into a politcal battle because whatever is done is done but, HAHAHA! i have to laught to keep from crying when l see that we still have bush supporters in the world. I cant believe that after all the Shit bush has put us in, he still has supporters, despite the fact that millions of bush's own supporters were smart enought to help get OBAMA into office. Bush didn't care about nobody but himself. Besides being one of the worst Presidents, he had to be the dumbest one by far. If you had the opportunity to take a look at Leno, Letterman, CNN or any local news, while bush was in office, you would see how bush was always the butt of all jokes whenever he opened his mouth. He wasn't a very intelligent man at all and he definietly didn't desrve the role as a President of anything! (but we all know how that happened, right in you very own state of Florida, SteveWFL).
Obama on the other hand has done more good in 100 days than bush did in 8 years. In addition to that Obama has a BRAIN and is very well spoken. bush was a dumb dumb and an embarrassment to the United States as well as the entire World. Just go look at his approval rating for yourself.
