Booza Spring on a ZX-14
installed the 08 Booza spring on my rear shock, what a difference, stiffened up the soft 14 shock, this will help with a lowered 14 ridden on the street, and will help with to much squating at the drag strip when being launched with a big guy riding, im 217, I would not recommend this for 190lbs and lighter riders, but bigger guys this is perfect, you here that Richcraft? I'll try it at the drag strip Thursday night.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had a problem with the stock shock with 44 tooth sprocket, but my 48 should be here in a day or two and from watching your vid. I think I will need a stiffer shock.
If you know were I can find one plz let me know dhdgr8 at yahoo dot com.

Reading the header, at first thought you will spend this year's spring drinking booze on your ZX-14
Initial impression on a side, thanks for the info

just bought a spring from race tech.looked into the busa spring,i think it has a 13.1kg rating.stock zx is like 9.6kg.recommended spring, for me(240lbs.),was an 11.7kg from racetech.but that is for stock length.brad at racetech ,converted the 11.7 to lbs(x 56=approx 650lbs)added 25lbs to the spring rate for each inch of stretch(6"=150lbs)and came up with an 800lbs(/56=14.28 kg) spring for me.i am waiting on it now,we'll see what happens.just my 2 cents.
spring cost $119

I used the stock arm length of 24" + 6" = 30"
30/24 = 125%
125% of what Racetech recommend for your weight on stock arm = xx.xx
this would work in theory for any weight and any length, by determining what rate they recommend stock for your weight, multiplied by percentage of length.

Is the '08 the only one that works, or do the earlier years work also?

i installed the '08 usa spring on my 14.the one i had ordered, from racetech, had not arrived when i had the time to change it.rode the bike about 100 miles today, with a 150lb. passenger, without a rub.my bike is 6" over, with soupy's adj. lowering links adjusted out as far as recommended(the length of the threaded body plus 3 1/2")this same set up with stock spring would rub the undertail.i weigh 240lbs.the busa spring has a 13.1kg rating, racetech recommended a 14.25kg for my weight and stretch.the racetech spring arrived on friday,i'm going to try to change it this week.
