Dyno Results...
My day started at 5am. 2 degrees celsius. Bloody cold.
I considered turning around many times during the trip.
I had on Long Johns, Thermal lined pants, and alpine star pants.
This I am happy to report kept my lower body warm.
However the undershirt and long sleeve tee shirt and sweatshirt and Icon Jacket failed to keep my chest from freezing. I like nipples but not on me if you get me...
My return trip was alot more hospitable. FUZZ Everywhere.
Helicopters, Planes, and cruisers.
Anyways after almost 4 hours on the road one way, with a second fueling stop, I found the Dyno shop.
1. I dont care what map you are given. I dont care who supplies you with the map.
Get to a Dyno and see what is happening.
No Dyno is alike. No operator is alike.
This is only my third Dyno experience.
This is my second attempt to get someone to work on my bike that knows what he is doing.
2 hours later amazing H.P Gaines and a burnt out clutch it seems.
(parts on order)
The Blue line showes the progress. Then the Drop. (No Clutch)
I will be going back when I get the clutch fixed.
Take a look and see for your self.
We feel we have the NOS figured out.
Good solid map before the clutch went on us.
I really wanted more...
This bike is not making the power I thought and boasted so now I eat humble pie.
But it still rocks!

Follow the blue line...
But yes the 178 was NOS.
The power generated should have been well over 200hp on NOS, but the run was cut short. (clutch)
Stock hp was very disappointing.

I have to stay neutral on this topic...
Just take your bikes in and have them Dyno'd...
I am sure everyone can do better.

fresh air.

uote]I still wonder why some operators don't want to let motors have fresh air I thought i was the only one to believe this. I wish i had a dime for all the times i have had this discussion. Once the motor has run some in the sealed room,or trailers, its basicly burning that air with less ox in it. Maybe i have just breathed to much of that same air before i started wearing the fresh air garb! Also im confused about the run with the nos! The green run would give you 10hp roughly'' so what nos jet did you use?...........................Bill

Bill.
This dyno setup had 2 side hatches and 2 power fans supplying the room with fresh air.
But take a look at the temps. 15 to start 2nd run 18 then 23.
Green run was my original map. Pissed raw fuel out the back of the bike.
Red run was the map tuned.
Blue was NOS. 50
Clutch lost during this run...
All in all. I guess reviewing the numbers it wasn't that bad.
Fresh clutch = more hp. How much I dont know. But it is defiantly improved.

Matt,
other than the nitrous run, I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers.
The local dyno has never seen more than 159 RWHP out of a stock Busa or ZX14, but they do run strong.
Elevation, gear its dyno'd in, tire pressure, chain tension, chain / wheel alignment, baro press., humidity, temp, eng temp, a/filter in or not, exhaust, race fuel or pump fuel .... there are so many variables...
They didn't strap the rear tire down?
Give me a call when you have time?
/ L
If it will spin the tire at 150 mph when the nitrous comes on, which that exact kit did on mine, it will spin the tire on the dyno bro... it probably wasn't the clutch....
All I see is speed, no rpm, what rpm was the nitrous activated at? 3000 rpm? I hope not.
That will detonate a piston pretty fast.
from the looks of the drum speed about 3000 rpm, 5th gear or sixth gear?

They had to strap the bike down before the NOS was even run.
The tire was hopping.
NOS activated at 5000rmp in 5th.
I have 1 question though.
Why wouldnt we run it up thru the gears instead of just putting it in 5th and hitting the NOS at 5000 rpm?
Real life applications. I hit it in 3rd and 4th 5th 6th... Ring the hell out of her...
Tried it in second but the mother is really wicked...
Screaming like my hair was on fire!
Dam nice run.
I will call you.
I have a number for ya here somewhere.

Hey Bill.
It will probably take 2 weeks to arrive.
PM 's here don't work, and everytime I get on psychobike my puter locks up, so I haven't been there much.
You have a good week too, I sure will... home tomorrow for a few days, can't wait to see my family, and get back to the bike!

WOW'' I had no idea it took that long'' We will keep that in mind in the future. I'm guessing the family is good and i know they will be glad to have DAD home. I can't even get on PB. I thought it was my computer. I have tried to get on here some, and i noticed you have been getting a decent workout on different bikes. I liked the zx10r you wrote about !! Anyway we sent you a new tensioner modified, the used ones are drying up. I am glad i did now seeing as it takes that long on shipping. I had a good long talk with machinist and i have to say they were very helpful with the shipping. Very!! If they come threw with what they committed too i will be sure and post it for sure. Have a good time with the family and your monster LOL............................Bill /Bev

I was hoping to find someone a little closer to me.
I would like a map created locally.
This should provide perhaps a little better map for my area.
I am not sure how much better though.
I understand what you stated in regards to hp output.
I believe their was a clutch issue. Everything replaced now.
The bike should produce better hp now.
