I use brasso... cheap, and works great. Here's how it looked after I cleaned it up. This is the pipe that was on jesses bike when he crashed. i got all of the bronze color off of the entire thing, put a new plate on it, straightened out the crash mark as good as i could and polished the end with brasso and a magic eraser. A dremel with a felt tip would work best.

Thanks so much. I'll give it a try. Mine has always had that off color on the back, along with the soot that builds up. Yours looks great. I bought mine from Smokin', via Stevewfl, so I guess a couple of Texas boys have a couple of Florida pipes on. I've loved mine by the way.

Orange Pledge works the best. It is water based, so once the pipe is clean, it stays clean. Lots of the other stainless steel cleaners are oil based and they attract dirt once cleaned. Trust me, give it a shot.

Well Bawls, we'll definitely hook up when you come to these parts. If I recall you were originally from Paris? Anyway, we'll do some riding and I'm sure it will lead to some bodacious bufoonery as well.
Gilberjj, are you talking about just shining up the chrome, or getting rid of the soot and browning on the end cap? I'll be giving both a try. Thanks for the help.

brasso will take the discoloration from heat cycling away... just takes a little elbow grease.

Semichrome Metal Polish will remove the Blue but a lot of rubbing. You saw how
Shanes M14 looked when he pulled it off and weighed it before he sold it. It was blue and gold.
It is like new now as I spent some time on it before I installed. When I change
the oil I use the polish on all the exhaust I can see.

+1 except I used a toothbrush...
Dremel sounds better -NICE!

My friend is a truck driver and he cleaned my mid pipe and muffler with some stuff he got from a truck stop. Did a great job, It brought the pipe back to brand new finish with minimal rubbing. Trucks have a lotta chrome. I dont recall the name but I will find out and post.

I can get my pipe clean with Noxon Metal Polish(Ace Hardware) but after a few weeks it's back to cleaning. I will give that Orange Pledge a try after cleaning for extended protection. gilberjj- Can you tell me approximately how long you're protected with that stuff before you have to clean again? Thanks

Smokehouse: My exhaust had a lot of grime and brownish dirty stuff caked on it from use. My end cap wasn't really dirty, but it did take off the stuff on there. It took some elbow grease but I got all that stuff off and the pipe looks brand new.
Superman: I don't know how long the stuff works for. I just tried it for the first time last week and it's still clean. I'll have to get back to you about it. Worst that can happen is you spend $5 and is doesn't work, however, I use it around the house too........ Great stuff!
