Anyone have the Corbin bags on their 14 ?

Using soft bags now.
Was curious if anyone has experience with the very cool looking but spendy Corbin bags.
It gets worse as I'd have to ditch the Tsukigi system and get some slip ons.
Slowly but surely my 14 is becoming a sport/touring rig.
ZG tall screen, Buell pegs etc.
Doesnt look like they hold much more than my Cortechs,
But so much more sanitary and weather proof.
And the price is actually going up on them!!

You starting rumors again Fish? How the fuck could Corbin ever go under with Mike charging us such ridiculous sky high prices?

Maybe you meant this?

I was looking at them to, but just too much money. I did like the cast front foot pegs
looks like they gine you more leg room than my Buell pegs. It does say you can use a
Muzzy full exhaust just one side has no silencer and will look odd with the cut out empty.
I also use a 08 C-14 seat and the 2007 Euro rear hand rail kit when I tour. I noticed on the 1000 mile trip we took that the ZF/ST wind shield put more wind on my helmet. Bad being
tall and in your 50's :-). But as soon as I get home all comes off and back to a real ZX-14 again. I emailed
Corbin last week asking if they the hard bags in 2007 Diablo Metallic Black....No answer.
Save your $$ and use the rain covers on the soft bags. Try zxninja forum there are a lot of ZX14 owners that tour over there.

If Corbins are no longer available or you find the $ prohibative go with Givi's. Likely less than half the $ of Corbins, look good and are readily available.

I might Ratbyk. Looks like they will work with my Tsukigi. Thanks for the pics.
Doing a big ride this year?
After I get done running a gillnetter in Bristol Bay, I'm taking off on a Looong ride. 2 weeks to a month.
Soft bags need too much babysitting. adjusting straps, rain bonnets etc.
My Cortechs are ok for a week end trip.
Installing Buell pegs and having my seat redone by Richs.
Still havent come up with a home made bar kit. Probably just order the Speigler kit. Price dropped !

I like the Speigler LSL bar kit. It's a pain to install but worth it on a long trip. It came
with the AN1 7/8" bar and the AN2 is about the tallest you can use ase your throttle cable is too short and you will have to cut a 1/2" of each end to get the taller AN2 bar to work.
I have to mess with the soft bad starps every time we gas up in the twisties as they shift around. We used painters tape on the plastic so dirt that gets under the soft pads on the bags does not scratch the paint. If you use a stem mount for a GPS etc you have a clearence problem as the mounting stem needs to be longer. The handel bar is in the way.

Have a great TRIP !!! lucky guy
i figure to wander the coast to above the bay area then start running the rockies and seeing where I end up. Will try to avoid heat as I wont be climatized.
About melted touring Last year after Alaska.

Thanks lab3,
I'll keep that in mind ordering.
My rotator cuffs are toast after 35 years of pulling net.
They WILL be totally whipped when I get back.
Will make the call for bars Monday.
The Hiel risers help but not enuf on long rides.

I know what you mean, my lower back from runninga engine lath and Bridgeport Mill
and bending over welding for 30 years. The Black 7/8 bars are not bad looking AN1
but the AN2 my friend has are better. But like I said you have to make a few minor mod's
to get slack in throttle cable(re-routting) and cut about 1/2" off each end so they do not hit the tank. And rotate the throttle cbles up a little. You will see when do the install. If you get pissed let me know my friend has installed several sets and has this down now :-) Be glad to send you my cell and walk you thru it. Or have Mike call you and help you Not make the mistakes he made as he installed mine too. The billet triple tree is CNC machined and looks great.

I looked into the LSL bar riser kit and thought, hell, for that much $ I can make my own. I had the top triple clamp off an old XS1100 Yamaha. I removed the ZX14's handle bars and using a file folder made a template that just sat down in between the fork tubes. Got out the hack saw and a couple of files and started carving. Trimmed the Yamaha's top triple down very close to my template. Filed off all of my rough cuts and shaped it so it just sat in between the fork tubes. Drilled 4 holes through my Franken bracket and bolted it on top. This provided me with the "perch" I needed to mount an alloy tubular handle bar. The wiring has enough give "stretch" and rerouting to hook up with out moding them. I purchased a longer braided steel front brake hose. Aligned the throttle cables/housing coming off the bottom, not the top. "Viola !" I had raised the handle bars 5" and back 3".
Tips: The switch brackets have "dimples" in them to align with the stock ZX14's clip ons. After you decide where you want to position them, drill a small hole into the alloy handle bars.
It took some moving around but was able to set the bars so that the clutch and brake master cylinders resivours/hoses just barely touch the top faring just below the windshield. I'm 75 and can now ride this sucker all day long without discomfort (besides numb bum).
There was one day last Aug I road it from Thompson Falls Montana to Sooke BC (just over1000kms) in one day. 900k of that was on 2 lane rural/mountain roads. Only the last 100 k was interstate type roads as I came up I-5 into the Vancouver BC area.
I use a Zero Gravity ST (sports touring) windshield.

Why I ran from Montana out to the coast in one day!!

Way to Go! 75 and still " Likeing It Like A Kid & Doing It Like A Man" At 58 I fell a Lot
younger after reading and Looking at your Hand Made Parts. Thumbs Up. Yeah you could
have just purchased a CNC machined parts but look at the Fun you had the 1st time you rode around the block after all that Hand Work. Noticed the larger grips and Ram ball for GPS you just showed me I did " NOT" have a orginal idea on mounting the Ram Stem Mount in a different position as the bars are in the way of the strm mount. Second set of inner mirrors. I have the same ZF/ST shield but take it off when I get home....just is not "Cool" looking... :-) Rock & Roll ratbyk use it up Bro. how many miles till she Blows Oil
and smokes when I " Let Off" :-)

Went shopping for a triple clamp I could mod to fit. No luck!!
Two bike wreckers and nothing that would work.
Have a machinist I know and even did a day of prep work for him but no reciprocation !
Screw it, the LSL kit is sano and easiest/quickest.
Leaving the first week in June and would like to have the fourteen locked and loaded, ready to rip when I get home in late July.
Kiss the grandkids, pet the dogs, ignore the phone and jet out before anyone or thing can tie Me down !!!
