New bike?
My wife is having a garage sale this weekend and was getting the garage cleaned up yesterday. Of course my bike was in the way so she got on it and backed it out slowly. She called me and told me it was outside and rain was on the way. The lip going into our garage is too big for her to push the bike without tipping it over so with some careful instruction she started it up and drove it in safely. She was proud of herself and jokingly I told her she is ready for her own and she actually entertained the idea. I see they make a 250 Ninja in the exact same color as mine (candy plasma blue). These bikes are hard to find used and the price is too high anyway. I am thinking of ordering one from the dealer but was hoping for some feedback on this bike. Can you ride it on the highway without vibrating to death? Any other problems? Any input you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks!

The 2 fiddy is a great starter bike. Can be used on the highway. Very big seller here in Canada.

Good starter bike but not much power. Most people are ready to move up after a month. The only downfall of a 250 is to get power out of them it has to be in the high rpms. I had one with broken rocker arms due to a girl trying to keep up to her husband on his 600 gixxer. I got my wife a 03 gixxer 600 to learn on. I think a 600 is a good platform to learn and plenty of power to not get tired of for a first bike. She now has a 1000 but she doesnt really need it if you know what im saying?

I taught Racheal to ride on a 250 ninja, her first bike. She now goes over 200 mph on her Busa, and runs mid 9 ET's on a 1000.
If I had it to do over, I would still start with the 250. It is an easy bike to ride. Once a new rider get's scared, it is a big setback. The 250 is unintimidating. It has enough power to go over 100 mph, which is plenty for a beginner. It also handles great.

considering that the first time she ever rode one was that moment right there, I think you better slow your roll a bit. Females are whim laden and indecisive when it comes to commitments like that! She will change her mind, so you gotta work her into it. Be conniving, drop hints about how some guys you know have wives that ride. Make a comment about how hot a chick on a bike is (preferrably when talking to someone else with her just in ear shot - ladies love to ease drop on conversations). Bring her into show rooms and arrange it so a salesman/women shows her the starter bikes like the 250 Ninjas, SV650's, Ninja 650's, etc. DON'T broach the subject of buying her a bike in a serious "we do it now or never" type approach. Let the words come out of her mouth, then challenge her to prove she really means it.
It's amazing how many ladies that kinda approach works on, most of my riding buddies and friends have used that advice to varying degrees of success. It's all in the delivery, and in NEVER showing your hand in this poker game. Save any and all gloating for your buddies! Poker Face FTW

Good advice! I did tell her that if she gets the bike I will start putting out more.
She does not have a go-fast personality. I guess my only concern is curtailing mine while riding with her. Good to know it will do over 100mph, that means it should not be to bad doing 60. Thanks guys!!
