Secondary TP sensor
Can anyone tell me what the function of the Secondary TP sensor is?
I ask this because I am thinking of removing the secondary butterfly shaft from the throttle bodies but obviously by doing this you are eliminating the readings from the secondary TP sensor. Does anybody know what effects this will have? I know the dash will notify you that there is an error (because a sensor is unplugged) but will this effect the ecu fuel map or timing at all???
Appreciate everyones help.

The "second TP sensor" and shaft removed is, "No turning back."
1. Yes, you will set a code at the subthrottle sensor.
2. Yes, your dash will flash FI forever.
3. Yes, you are going to lose your battery volt/mileage/all the spoils of the readouts are gone!
4. Yes, if you are good and reinstall everything you took apart on the throttle body, you did find out you can return back to all the parts you removed is good luck!
5. Yes, I think it is possible.
6. Yes, it is your bike and your mod is you can always buy a new unit and replug it back in like you spun on an oil filter is that simple.
7. Yes, the function of the, "Secondary TP sensor" is to follow your gear and rpm so your throttle response is as good as if you removed the guts you want to remove now.
8. Yes, you are going to wish you never did it unless your funds are unlimited.
9. Yes, you did say you wanted to enter.......
10. Ah..... Da Unda Ground!

Just remove the butterflies, much simpler and proven.

And it it is an 08', leave them in. You gain very little low end, and loose the smoothness of the throttle response. It is not like the 06 and 07's. with them removed... not even close. Kawa did a very good job re-calibrating the secondary responsiveness on the 08 to get the TQ on the low end.

No its an 07 model.
I have been searching for previous posts on this subject and it looks like the secondary TPS is only a limit switch to tell the servo motor of the flies where to stop at fully open and where to stop at fully closed. It does not look as though it interferes with fuel mapping or ignition timing.
I say this because I tried removing the secondary TPS plus the servo motor with shaft and the engine seems to work fine, just like before. The only difference is that when started cold the servo motor obviously doesnt raise the idleing.
Can anyone confirm this??
