Rant on: Does anybody ever post about anything but drag racing on this forum??? Listen , I know that drag racing one of the most powerful bikes made is popular, but we need a little more variety on here. I even like drag racing, but this forum is totally dominated with it, very few mod, riding, or other type posts. I know, I know, love it or leave it, get a life, which is what I'm considering. I also know this won't change anything here. Rant mode off.

136 posts in 1.5 years and you are disappointed with the posting??
If you contributed more in your areas of interest it might help. Or, are you looking for others to champion your interests?
No offense or anything, just the way I see it...

It's just that the majority here are into the performance side of the bike but I am sure if you start off on another subject, be it puppies or bicycles, somebody will eventually come up with a way to get it in the 9's....

There's plenty of us interested in the twisties, street riding, and road racing. I'm a fan of drag racing and road racing, but I don't participate in either. I'd like to, don't have the time or money to devote to it.
There was a post not to long ago, about someone road racing their 09 green 14 with pics. I think many people are interested in more than drag racing and a few from the top of my head would be:
Sticks
fastestbusa around
stevewfl
even Smokin takes his out for some street riding on bike night
We're out here if you want to post up something for discussion.

It's true there's not much posted here on road racing, sport touring, or all the other stuff normally associated with local forums. Well, this isn't a local forum. The guys here can no doubt answer ANY question you might have about road racing or sport touring though!
Drag racing being what it is; a black and white measurement of performance AND technique performed at a high level by a select few, who band together to take on the other manufacturers best bikes and riders at a few hundred tracks worldwide. That being the case there is a distinct need for a site like this where info like 'Shanes build' can be disseminated to other 14 riders worldwide who are trying to best the 14's competitors and by sheer willpower give the 14 its rightfull place in history - or better yet, 'infamy'!
Even though I'm not a drag racer in any measure of the name, I find myself drawn here where I can witness '3rd hand' that chasing of history. A obscure history of no import to the majority of riders, but a epic struggle non the less.

Sticks,
You been reading Hemmingway or something (very philosophical)? I picture you with your size 16 feet up on your front porch typing this and smoking a pipe.

No, not at all. Though I love motorcycling and any power mod, I'm just surprised by the lack of diversity here.

I've been told to stretch my bike over and over. Too much power for the wheelbase. But I love the twisties as much as the drag track so I leave it at stock wheelbase for now. My local sportbike riders group does both quite a bit. Now, when I get that Ducati 999 that I'm spooging my drawers over in the next couple of months, the 14 will get lower and longer. Post up what you want to chat about concerning 14's on this site and I'm sure you'll get plenty of folks writing; I would for sure. The Smackhouse has plenty of off motorcycle topics to write about

Running 11's would flat out piss me off too. In fact I would leave silly comments on the bikeland website to all of the other zx14 owners that want to make their bike fast.

Don't know why there would be much talk of road racing in the 14 section, makes a pretty poor track bike IMO. And seems most guys on the 14 don't do many trips. most of us dragrace.

i know a guy that put a chainsaw motor on a bicyle once. now if we go with a big Husqvarna motor with a shot of nitrous, and a jockey sized rider, i bet we could get that 9!
the only "puppies" going 9s are usually behind leather and kinda on top of a gas tank

Bitching about drag talk in the ZX14 section is like going to a message board for 600's and bitching about people stunting or roadracing.
BTW... what are "flies", How do you remove them, what kind of oil do you guys reccomend, and what tires are everyone running? I think that that should cover all of the other threads on here lol
