What is the highest mileage anyone knows of a sportbike lasting? Just wondering how long a typical sportbike engine last.

There was a 929rr a guy had to sport tour that had over 100,000 miles, last I read, and he used Castrol GTX oil. It was on the internet and still may be. Lets see if this Youtube of a F4i works www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwiOyq2Q9-l

Glad to see this :-) I hate hearing the cam chain noise when I start a cold engine.

If you have over 50K on a 14 and no cam chain repairs.... Great.

There are numerous Blackbirds that have turned over 100K with out even having the motor opened up & I think if I remember right that there is a nutty dude in the U.K. who uses his XX as a courier and has surpassed 200K.

I'm new to Kawisaki's though so the only thing I have to offer here is that I have personally seen some old Connie's go 75K+ miles with just the basics of maint' such as valves and carbs.

Can't give it to you in miles but my buddies ZX12R Stroker had done in excess of 200 passes at over 200mph at the track by the end of last season and he uses it on the roads too. Now that's what I call bullet-proof.

On a normal bike, I'm sure they are wrecked and totalled before most motors blow.

It's not a sport bike but there's a guy down the street with over 650k kms on his BMW, does touring but the thing still runs like the day it was bought back in the 80's, runs Amsoil and has never had to do any engine work other than adjustments.

Only sportbikes I ever heard of doing over 100K are Hondas. That 929 was working on 200k but I cant find anything on it now.
