exhaust
I have an 08 ZX14, I want to purchase an exhaust system. I do not want something crazy loud but loud enough so people know I am next to them. I am sure this information is posted somewhere but I am currently deployed overseas and it takes forever to do anything on the internet. I am not so concerned with additional horsepower as the bike goes faster than I will ever go anyway. Also with an aftermarket exhaust what is the right way to address the ECU, to ensure I maintain the right fuel/air mixture. I have about 3k on the bike in 2 months!!!!! What a great machine.

Yes indeed beautifull machine. The exhaust I chose for my 14 was a Muzzy M14/Carbon Can. You can get a great deal for it on starcycle.com. It was a perfect choice in my opinion. Installation was a breeze. It sounded great. Not too loud but deep and throaty.....just what i look for in an exhaust system. There are plenty of good quality setups to go with as well. Look in to brocks site, I hear they have great technical support as well. You would need a power commander to address the correct fuel/air mixture ratio. The company who makes it are called Dynojet. Brocks and Muzzys offer maps that you can use for the exhaust you choose as you would need to upload into power commander.

July 2008 issue of 2 Wheel Tuner has an article pages 34-41 by Ricky Gadson that states the only engine mods he made to his custom 2008 ZX14 were as follows: Muzzy's M10 full exhaust, TRE, Butterflies removed, Vortex sprockets, ek chain. That is all(no power commander or other air/fuel adjusters). It ran an 8.90 1/4 mile!
I understand you are not looking for anymore power but it wouldn't hurt to have it just as a secondary benefit verses losing power due to your new exhaust. Also, I bet you could get the same gains if not more with this set-up using any of brocks full exhaust. Brocks offers more exhaust options that will not hurt your ZX14's performance than anyone else out there.
A side:
2 Wheel Tuner publisher(Sarah Timleck, stimleck@2wtmag ) and/or advertising (Nick Hill, nhill@2wtmag.com) this is the info. that a lot of 08-09 ZX14 owner have been looking for and I provided it with a plug for your Mag. I have a current subscription to your Mag and only ask that you send a extra copy for the remainder of my subscription so that I may be able to reference/promote the useful info that my 2 wheel tuner mag provides. I need the extra copy because friends, associates, and I are always searching for up to date info. and I find myself lending out my 2 wheel Tuner Mags, (and never getting them back). I need to have a lend copy and a personal (do not touch my 2 wheel tuner) copy.
It would be great to get a response,

My comment was to blk ice... sorry about that. I give the +1 for brocks. I had a gen3 shorty on my bike before the street meg and it was pretty mild. Until I got on it...

lol Kaibosh, Bawls I was joking anyway. Are you saying gen3 shorty from Brocks? I am admitedly new to the forum and appreciate most comments. You would have to pay for this type of information through trial and error just a few years ago.
