do you have renters or homeowners insurance? also, do you have full coverage (i'm guessing yes since you're still paying for it). i know people with alstate, geico, state farm, usaa, progressive, and farmers who have gotten bikes stolen and they all got theirs paid for. lol... lots of bikes get stolen in san diego. they usually turn up in TJ. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but being an SE, it's bound to show up.

If you don't have theft in your policy, why don't you add it wait a month and then file a claim. If not that then file a home insurance claim. Pay your deduc and save 10K plus your extras. Sorry to hear that man. thats a nice looking bike. one of the best SE I haveseen

I have a friend that had one just like yours a couple weeks ago that had his stolen also. Two of my cousins had theirs slolen in Jan, one was a 04 black cbr1000rr and the other one was a 2005 hyabusa. These thieves are fucking crazy and brave now a days. When my cousins bike were taken, I had myzx-14 right next door in my garage with the key in and everything. I think the only reason why they didn't get mine is because they probably didn't know it was in there. After that happened I keep mine locked down like fort knox with two huge ass kryptonite chains and the steering wheel locked.

lol YEAH I KNOW!!!!! had a lot of folks tell me to do claim when my motor diedon my former 14. Decided not to and sold it for a loss but didnt wantthe karma.
My first suggestion wasnt the right thing but its hard to lose that type of coin.
My second suggestion thoughis perfectly legal. A house insurance claim.
I JUST SAID IT, I DIDNT KNOW IF YOU'D DO IT OR NOT!!!!!!!!!

I had my bike stolen almost 20 years ago, and I'm still pissed!! It doesn't go away!!
BTW, it was stolen from my front porch area too.
The bike was a 1985 900 Ninja. By 1988, when it was stolen, they quit making them. Many years later I bought a beat up 900 again and spent years restoring it to new/mint condition. So it's taken me this long, but I finally have again what I lost years ago.
I always shared this story with my son, who had a 2007 600 Ninja, warning him to secure it. Over-confident like he is, well ... like father like son, his bike was later stolen from his front porch in Seattle. I think he sees that I was right... He had it chained and locked to a post, but that's not enough these days.
I now have LoJack on my bikes. Not a guarantee, but at least there's a chance they can catch the bastards!!!

I swear, I want thieves to die in the most horrible, painful ways. Nothing is punishment enough for them, IMO.
God I fucking hate thieves.
(Takeaway lesson: Always have theft insurance on something you are paying on. Hell, most of the time it's worth it paid off vehicles, unless it's a cheap vehicle).

I guess the lack of insurance payout is because your bike wasn't locked?
That really sucks. Reminds me of a trip to the Le Mans 24 hour race in France. My group locked our bikes together in pairs on the hotel patio in view of the road and they were ok. Two friends who used the "secure" underground, gated garage both lost their bikes.

Homeowners insurance will not pay for registered vehicles. A dirtbike or bicycle, yes.

You have no idea how much I hate the oxygen air thieves that steel bikes. Years ago, with hanging in the clubhouse with my Harley brothers, a dick wad comes in wanting to sell and buy stolen Harley parts. Several members had their rides ripped off. Needless to say he was receiving an ass whopping from hell, and then he starts screaming,"I'm undercover, I'm police!" Yea right.....cops come and haul him away, he was undercover but for some reason they let us slide. 1974.

Oh, whoops, wrong thread. Sorry dude, I was sitting here speechless, wondering what to say. Nothing I can say will help, but... You really need to look into options when it comes to your insurance.
Also, the people who did this need to have their balls torn off. Slowly. Very slowly.

special14- man that sucks!!!!! I still don't fully understand why the insurance won't cover theft. Did the insurance lapse? I assumed that if you had more then , "No fault" you would be covered for theft. I appologize in advance but I cover all my vehicles regardless if they are paid off or not. I'm a novice understanding all of the insurance's in/out but I hope the situation works out for you. Take care and I hope thieves(in general) receive the pain they cause others X 100.
PS- Nice looking SE!!!! Take care
