FYI regarding Center Stands and Slip-ons
Over the past couple of weeks I've been researching slip-on systems for my '08, and my biggest concern was that I want to retain my center stand. I checked with a number of vendors and found that almost no one has the center stand stop bracket welded on the right side mid-pipe for the '08. Area P was very helpful and even emailed me a picture of a peg guys are welding on the center stand as a stop against the swing arm, but I wasn't sure about that route. I emailed Ti-Force because I like their systems, and I found that they only offer a high mount system for the '08 (a shame, because it raises the passenger foot pegs), but they do offer a center stand stop bracket for $45. I bought one and it mounts to the frame under the little bracket that holds the peg for the center stand return spring. Problem solved! Since I couldn't see going with the high mount system I decided to buy a Yosh R-77, which is really great. The leg on the left side of the center stand with the foot peg had to be bent a little to clear the pipe though (nothing a torch and a length of pipe couldn't handle!). Anyway, I just wanted to pass this on as an option.

Oh, and for those of you looking for pipes for your bike, Area P was the only vendor who really went out of his way write a very helpful response. I'm a little partial to Yoshimura exhaust (fond memories of my '91 ZX-11), so I went that route, but it was obvious Area P cares for the sport and for their customers. You might keep that in mind...

When I put a center stand on my 06 with a Muzzy 4-1 there was no stop. Looked at it for a couple of minutes. Light bulb went on in head! Took a stainless steel rad hose clamp. Placed around the middle pipe just before muffler. Positioned with the screw part of clamp facing to the inside. Sat perfect as a bumper stop. That was 22,000kms ago. Still there, no probs. $1.25 clamp, stainless is almost invisible on the stainless pipe. Grin Grin!

John do you have a part number for that?
Did you order it directly from Ti-Force?
I had a center stand on mine but took it off when I installed the 4-2-1 exhaust.
I always liked the convenience of it for checking the tires or lubing the chain.
Thanks for the info.

I ordered it over the phone from the U.S. Distributor:
TiForce U.S.A
2515 6th Ave South Birmingham, AL 35233
Tel : 1-205-583-8601
Fax : 1-205-583-8605
Email : tech@tiforce.com
I don't have a part number handy but will look for the packing slip. If I find it I will post it. When I called them the guy I talked to knew what I was referring to.
