Straps
OK, my front strap showed up today. How do I install it? It does not look like it will just bolt on as in the description.

I think you can use just a strap but you have to bolt it to the top calliper bolt alone. I got the brackets because i didnt want all that stress on one caliper bolt versus two. someone else who has used just a strap and no brackets would be better suited to answer ya.

It, looks like if I try to install the straps "hook" on to the top bolt that it would be all cadywampus.

I have mine on my top bolt alone. When I had my strap on my 636 I had to gring about 1/4" off one of the sides, and it fit the 14 just fine. Had it on there for 3 years now! You will be fine without the brackets, if it is just a hair not straight up and down, it should be ok, like I said, mine has been like that for a while with no fraying, tearing, etc

Can you post a pic it? I just tryed to test fit the strap on the top bolt and it looks very half ass. and looks like it will keep the top caliper bolt from going in very far...

The brackets are $100+ shipping, the strap is $21,,,,,,, where is the rest of the $50 , I have no clue.
If you feel comfortable with bolting the strap via 1 bolt, just use a washer or 2 between the strap bracket and the caliper. Then,,,,, on the tightening end of the strap(it has a loop for your hand to fit into) use a nylon wire tie to the fork tube to keep it from hanging down and blowing it around.

Brocks Radial Strap Kit is $159.00 plus freight, I called and ordered it today. I liked the Black
caliper bracket on my Black 07 better that the Muzzy Gold color and the Brocks mounting bracket looks stronger, more material where the the bolts mount.
