Miracle in a can....?

Nah, i wouldn't say so but it is good stuff. I never trusted something that came out of can....never been a big fan of them. I gave it one last shot with Dupli-Color ceramic 1200 deg paint. I followed the directions to a Tee and this is what I got.....

I had to bake these for 350 for 2 hours and 400 for a hour and a half. I let the parts sit over night with 2 light coats and 1 heavy. There are 2 problems with this...one you need to build a small metal wire rack to hold the parts up off the rack so they do not touch. "I layed them in there and they left little dimples on there where they touched." 2....It stinks the house up....I pissed the GF off but I told here to "deal with it!" lol I heat cycled the bike for over a hour today and so good so far. I would take it out for a ride but it's snowing now...Damn Indiana weather.

I baked them in the kitchen. I sanded with 600 grit then sprayed them off with brake parts cleaner. I scrubbed them with hot soapy, dried them off...and never touched them again. I always had a towel in my hand when i picked them up.

I didn't do the header pipes yet...too be honest I wasn't planning too. It crossed my mind but with wednesday being the first track day of the year I don't have the time. I still have a million little things too do to get ready and with work, mma, the gf and working on my car, I don't have alot of time. I'll put that on the to-do list.

I found a cheap way to make the billet endcap look like new again lol. Brasso and a felt wheel for your dremel will work wonders lol.

I'm trying to get rid of all the bling bling on the bike. I'm getting into this all black stage for some reason.... I made another bracket for the exhaust too while i was at it. I rotated the can some more because the little tab was scraping pretty bad in right corners. I pulled the can up and closer to the bike..I lowered the bike some more for this year and it was catching the exhaust pretty bad.

Well I have gotten some good use out of it. I rode the bike more last summer than I ever had. i doubled the miles in one summer....I'm up too 4200 now lol. I pretty much just ride it to town and back and at the track. I took a ride with a friend last summer ( 5 hours total) and my right ear was ringing. I even made a baffle that slips into the pipe and it still left me saying "HUH"???...for 2 days.

You can turn right...you just can't really lean into it. I have been riding it on the street for 2 years now with that pipe.

There are just 2 rivets holding the Brock badge on...drill them out and just replace when your done.

Looks good flatout, hope to see you guys down there a few times this year. My bike is still in pieces, and the parts are scattered all over the state. It has been a really really long winter.
