ZXBOB - TPS - good A/F-MPG?

I did a recommended use some tape idea on the throttle to mark the TP percentages, so I could then tell the TPS at certain cruising RPMs. Having the Bazzaz software which tells me the TPS, ignition on only, was a breeze to mark the percentages, then took it out.

Now here is what I found. I was looking for cruising RPM range of say 3.5 to 4.5K RPM which is about 65 MPH to 90 MPH.

The throttle position, in that range or riding speed/RPM, begins at about a few percent, and never gets to 10 percent. Maybe about 8 or so tops.

That is great, near as I can tell for easy adjusting of a map at that RPM and TPS set of ranges.

So what is a good, safe lean A/F for cruising? Cause the turbo is not 'on' so much, and at 90 MPH I might get 1 PSI, I though I'd run the AFR around as 'X' A/F to gather in that data, and then incorporate those changes into the map.

So 14.1, or ? for good/great MPG?

Remembering that once the throttle is opened/hit - and above the 10 percent range, the A/F goes back to 12.5 for the turbo A/F.

JDC,
IMPO...
I would not tune leaner than 13:1 on turbo, simply because you might find it diffucult to get the transition smooth when you turn the throttle more.

When on the boost, I would tune for a conservative number like between 11.2:1 -11.8:1 AFR.
This is especially critical if you are not pulling timing above 5psi, on stock pistons.

You should get with ZXbob and go over his setup... I could speak and regurgitate all I have learned over the last year, but ultimately his is the bike with 10,000 miles on the turbo, and he has much more experience with turbo's than most anybody hanging out here much.

I wish I could tell you I have done this or that firsthand, but I haven't .... maybe this summer though! LOL

dubious,

Thanks. I always appreciate caution/saving my arse over anything. I know Harry of ATP said 12.5, maybe 12.3 was good. I have about 4.5 deg retard. Will likely go 5-6 when I uninstall and reinstall the setup with heat wrapping/coating.

Im seeing 13.7 at cruise "most of the time"

Weather is such a big factor. I have said before, some cool mornings I get boost (1 to 2 psi)
at 65 mph and the AF is around 14.?. On warmer days 13.5 at the same speed and RPM.
