Turbo ZX 14

Have a 2006 zx14 with the cyclelogics turbo kit set at 7Lbs seems like I'm getting alot of crank case pressure have it vented from the original hose that went to the air box with the small K&N cone filter also tried venting through the oil fill cap with a 3Ft hose with a small cone filter attached running up hill and it just pumps oil out here as well was wondering how some of the others were venting the crank case pressure. Also was wondering how often other people change plugs in a turbo application. Just purchased this bike over the winter and trying to get it ready for the summer. Was wondering how tempermental a turbo bike with fuel injection is due to weather changes as in temp and humidity. Any info greatly appreciated.

How much oil is pumping out ?

I have the same set up on my bike ..... the only thing that comes out the added
vent is air. Do a leak down on the motor, maybe there's a bad ring. No oil should
make it that far.

As far as tuning for hot cold weather ...... it should be a non-issue for ya.

If your over filled with oil it will puke out the breather. Have 16,500 miles with stage 1, no problems to report. Using 10-40 regular Kaw oil. Have not had great luck with syn oil, weird stuff goes on below freezing temp. Cam chain won't tension up, shifts into second while parked. If your using miracle crap oil, you could have a toast motor. Check your oil level warm and upright. Above 5 lbs boost you need to pull timing and be very wary of the fuel you burn.

I rode the bike for around 45 miles the other day bike run flawless on boost and off no smoking of any kind coming from exhaust no smell of oil burning. Just lot of oil coming from the vent at oil fill cap thought that may have been a bad area to vent because with the cap off at idle will throw some oil out so at high rpm figured that was why I was getting the 3ft hose full it runs from oil fill cap up along frame to around the area where front turn signal is will fill the hose then have the cone shape filter wet

Well I did get to do the leak down and three of the four checked out good but number one was at about 18% took the vent off at the oil fill cap and just running the one at the factory location. That took care of all the oil blow bye I was getting. bike runs real good the way it is I picked this bike up used with turbo already installed there were know gauges installed. I got the gauges all hooked up and took it for a ride today. It has the cyclelogic Turbo kit stock motor internals suppose to be set at 7LBS the bike idle around 35LBS of fuel and running down the road around 8,000 R.P.M. around 62LBS of fuel the bike runs flawless up until around 9,500-10,000 I know this kit has an internal wastegate and have read where people say they creep up one boost pressure. When I got done with my run up the road I recalled the memory on the boost gauge and it said 14.5Lbs I suspect this is why it was breaking up on the big end running out of fuel for that amount of boost. So my question is how do I keep the internal waste gate to stay at 7-8LBS of boost. I'm truly addicted to the boost gods after my short ride today up the road. I was in second gear just rolled into it and rear 240 went up in smoke and was gone and the bike is extended 4". then turned around on the way back and was in second gear rolled into it again and started climbing up on the back wheel absolutely awesome I know now when I have read other post of guys talking about turbos what they mean! And this is consider low boost set up. After today I think I may need to sign up for rehab for horse power junkies! Any suggestion on the above problem or ideas greatly appreciated.

18% that's not good ... You want to see somewhere around 3% to 4 % .... At 14 psi of boost you are going to have problems !! unless your running C16 race fuel and pulling timming .... Better get that fixed ...

I am running cam2 in it. I do realize that the 18% is not good but just trying to get it tuned in as well as I can for now maybe limp it around town for the summer then tear it down this winter put some low comp pistons and good rods for the next season. And crank it up!

Cam 2 is good ... Better to be safe till you get it dailed in .. Jesse turbo spiked to 15 on the dyno and c16 saved us a motor for sure .. I think it made like 320 hp on the dyno pull ...Boost is a blast for sure but it pays to be safe ... We kept Jesses at about 11.2 to 11.4 on boost and never had a problem with stock parts ...

I had the same problem, have an ATP kit. A lot of oil out of crank case vent hose. Had oil 1/2 in window.

Took advice and removed internal crank case hose stub, about 5" long, and now air comes out clean, so far no oil. Will test on some hard runs soon.

Had aboutt 700 miles on new oil since turbo install, and it looked like mud. Will see how new synthetic will work.

WOW....I'm amazed the engines still running at all....let alone 1 cylinder just slightly down. Who knows how long the previous owner was running it like that Goes to show just how tough these motors are
