Brock's Noise Reducing Plug
I installed my Brock's Alien Head exhaust this weekend, what a difference in power. The bike is definitely no longer ninja ( couldn't sneak up on anything). Has anyone tried the noise reducing plug on this pipe, would like to tone it down a little bit for street use.

The AH is like the Muhamed Ali of pipes. Makes a lot of noise but damned sure can back it up..

All I keep hearing is that the plug doesn't make much dif in sound level.
I plan to just get a brock's can muffler sone time after I get the A head full system. Unbolting muffler bracket and unspringing the midpipe can't be more that a 15 minute job once you get it figured out. That's about as close to the best of both worlds as I think I'm going to get.
I would think a new Brock's can could be had for maybe $5-600 and it should be reasonably quiet and keep the exhaust fumes off me and passenger. The plug is over $100 for a couple less decibles and it definitely won't do a thing for keeping exhaust gases away.

ROOK,
The street meg is worth considering. Its longer meg pushes the fumes and sound behind you and passenger. Although still loud, while rolling at a moderate speed it quiets down, at lease for the rider(s).

I think the noise reducing plug was only designed for streetmeg and shortmeg.

Yep, heard the Smeg. Nice growl at idle and normal street riding rpm. Roars under hard accelleration/high Rs - everyone within 1/4 mile will hear you inside their automobiles. The Smeg seems to be a sensible go between for street riders who also need race sound/performance. I think most of us would agree it is a great pipe for a do-it-all bike like the 14 was designed to be.
I'm sort of all or nothing when it comes to the things I'm passionate about. I just hate to make concessions. For me, I like the looks of a smaller pipe and I would love the max loudness. I also have a feeling there is a slight hp and weight advantage to a shortmeg or A-head and it will bug me if I don't have that.

the smeg without the baffle sounds like a pro-stock bike and is SUUUUUPER light.
