TRE drag test ......

The air was the same as last Weds night testing .. Mods > 09 zx14, stock wheel base , Brocks pipe , 17/40 gears , lowered and strapped .. NO P/C or Tune and the same fuel as last week ..I didn't even change the air pressure in the tires ..

I added Ivans TRE and felt a difference right off the bat ... Last weeks runs i could feel the flys opening very slow and causing me to have slow 330 times ... 60 foot times were ok last week but the 330 numbers seemed slow ...My best runs last week were a pair of 6.12 ..

See this weeks tickets below ...

As you can see i picked up a bit over a tenth of a second by adding the TRE ..And that was with NO P/C or Mapping ...She is making more power down low and that's what i needed to lower my 330 times..To me the TRE feels a bit smoother that the flys out mod and much easier to install than removing the flys .. The TRE works and i'm much happier controlling the throttle than letting the ECU do the job ..

Good info (as always Smokin)... Seems like with the 08-09 they have the flies to a point where it is not worth pulling them if you add the TRE. I think the reason I pulled the flies is because I have an 06... and I knew that I was getting a pipe and getting it dyno'd so it made sense... I also never race and wanted my factory stuff to work also... but for racing it seems that it worked better than you expected! I may think of using it if I get a newer 14 (or 15) haha But you gave us the info in black and white... which is helpful! Thanks...

Nice riding...the 5's are right around the corner. What do you think those #'s would equal 1/4 mile...low 9.20's or high teens? I run 9.30-9.35 on 6.0's....at 230 lbs. suited...

That 6.01 should get me a low to mid 9.20 at my 150 pound ass .. 121 to 122 1/8 mile should get me 151in the 1/4 mile or close .. We will just have to see how well this 09 runs on the back end of the 1/4 mile ..

My 6.01 at 121.6mph netted a 9.25 at 152.1mph and I weigh 230suited. You should be at least a half 10th faster than my big ass.

Stock wheelbase is tempting for me, but I'd never get the bike in the 8's without a 40 shot or better...

No i'm keeping the flys inplace ...But i want to try the new PCV with auto tune ...

We have been playing with the PCV on my friends turbo V Rod. Pretty simple, set your target a/f's and let it do it's thing. You can apply the trims if you want, where you want......or not.......

You could build a nice nitrous map for the track, and toggle back and forth between auto tune for the street and your map for the track. I think you will like it smokin.............it doesn't take up a lot of room............good thing on the 14 as you know...................
