Front sprocket ChangeOut - Dry method?

So I noticed in the service manual it says to remove the clutch slave when replacing teh front sprocket. they say this include loosening the banjo bolt for the clutch, of course leading to brake fluid dripage.

Can the front sprocket be changed by simply loosening the clutch slave housing and squeezing in the rod without loosing any fluid?

I put a note on my left handlebar saying

"DON'T TOUCH THE CLUTCH, IT'S THIS LEVER"

While I may have been setting myself up for unnecessary hardships from one of my 6 roommates, it ended up being ok.

i made it a point not to touch mine, and i STILL lost all my clutch lever pressure... TWICE! id bleed the clutch, try it again, and still no pressure... ended up having to take the cover on and off 2 and 3 times. it was a PITA for me, something that simple.. i know..
