you sure its not just corroding from the elements?

.......

also most wheel cleaners are very corrosive, most are not meant for paint or anodized surfaces, just chrome and bare aluminum...

I wouldn't use my wheel cleaner on the brake line fittings. Just water probabley. Have to check the label again for what it says about paint but I'm pretty sure it said it was safe. Black Magic Titaneum Wheel Cleaner. The paint on the wheels looks new. Actually, I plan on painting them white this winter so if the silver got etched a little, that'd be okay with me. I'll be sanding them anyway.

Thanks makenna. For some reason, I can not click links on this forum except for those typed by masszx. I have no idea why. I'm sure your links will help some others though and I will do a search for ACF-50.

Rook, try copying and pasting my links into the browser. I have difficulty posting links on this site for some reason. Probably cuz I am on a MAC.

^^Nope. Still no worky. I can copy and paste to a Word doc and then paste on my homepage search. That's a few extra steps but it's well worth it.. Thanks for all the info.

I washed the brakes up good and I noticed that some other areas look pitted. A lot of the unpainted areas around the brakes seem to be affected on the top surfaces only like something settled on it. My guess is salt. The wire bracket that the rear brake line runs through is pitted on the top and the axle nut too. It's not too bad. Maybe I will try to polish these parts down next winter. Perhaps they will just need to be replaced every few years.

Thanks for all the input here, guys.

Check your ground connections. Sounds like some might be going bad. hate for bigger problems to develop.

Will do, OG. Thanks. I will have to see if I can find the locations of ground connections in SM. If I cannot find, I'll ask for help here.
