The stock 14 runs rich, really rich. Slipons merely help it run a tad leaner - which still leaves it too rich.

Power Commander III (referred to as a 'PCIII") is what you'll need in order to obtain a optimum air to fuel ratio, and a good downloadable map should be available fromt he slip-on manufacturer.
A K&N or BMC filter definitely helps and most consider it a "no-brainer". But the most people also consider a full exhaust (4 into 1) to be a no brainer, too. lol
