Gas Tank Pressure Question
I'm a new 14 owner. About 450 miles on the bike. I noticed the last few times when I stop for fuel a fairly noticable release of pressure when I open the gas cap. The bike wasn't on empty. Still had a gallon or so in the tank. Is this just normal for a 14? The bike's due for 600 mile service in two weeks.

Yes, More so in the summer. You should hear the tank venting before you open the cap.

That's a normal sound. Mine does it too. I think I even heard it making a long wine once or twice when parked in the warm garage with gas cap closed. Vapors build up and they need to be expelled. It's totally healthy. Just try to not let your bike do it around other bikes because they think it is impolite.

Thanks everyone. After 35 years of riding this bike has re-energized my passion to ride. Couldn't appreciate the thrill till I rode one. My other bikes are resting comfortably in the garage.

My first car was a bike. I've had an endorsement since the late 70's. this bike has made me change a few things about riding I thought I knew already. never too old to learn when your life depends on it! I remember reading a mod to the gas cap assembly where you drill out the vent holes a little larger?? Aircraft is supposed to whistle isn't it?
