valves or timing chain tenshioner taping
the other day i rode my bike down to a friends house and the battery went dead for some reason so we pushed it off and when it crunk up it had a small taping noise to the engine....you can barly hear it when its idealing but when u get up to about 4 or 5 thousand rpm it tapes pretty bad......iv called 2 local shops and they say it may be either of the 2 but they dont want to give a price on how much either will cost to fix.. they just tell me how much they charge an hour and i dont want to get a big suprize on the bill when i pick it up so my question is does any 1 know about how much each 1 should cost to fix? either putting new timeing chain tenshioner in because iv read alot about the 14 being bad about these going bad or setting the valves? im sure it hasent droped a valve yet because the power is still there just a nasty tap......thanks or all the help

hi
as there was no oil pressure to the hydraulic tensioner when you pushed a dead engine it sounds like you may have slipped the cam timing and clipped some valves, you need to have this checked immediatly and do not run the engine again until you do so

Change your oil and look for gold.
