07 VS 08 ZX 14

OK Guys I need some advice. I am buying a new ZX and I can get a killer deal on a brand new 2007 and a decent deal on an 08. I have ridden a friends 08 and love it!! Is the 2007 that much different? I know the 08 has some more power down low and frankly the low an mid-range is what drew me to the bike (along with the silky ride of course) If I save the $$ on the 2007 am I going to be disapointed?? Thoughts?

The 07 will make more torque down low as soon as you yank those pesty flies! I would get the 07 and use the money you saved on a pipe and pcIII. Not only will you have a faster, but a better sounding ride!

Check the 07 for frame cracks. There was a recall.

^^^Seems to me any brand new 07 on a dealers hands should have passed recall inspection or had the improved 08 frame installed. Ask about it.

I'd go with the 07.

Personally the color would seal the deal for, but the money saved on the 07 could be useful on parts!!!!

You shouldn't pay more than $8K for an 07 bike with 0 miles on the clock IMHO.
The 08 will carry a little more resale value for the first couple of years though.
Color and OTD price will seal the deal for me on either one.

Ouch. I paid $8,500.00 for my 07 two months ago with 2700 miles on it from a friend who purchased it new
11 months ago. But it did have the recall looked at (no problem) and all the mod's were on it, I did have the wheels polished and speedo healer, and I am waiting on Shane's M14.
so I saved $$ and it still has the 4 year extended warranty. I have had a lot of bikes over the years and I like the ZX-14 best.so far :-)

85 for a modded bike is not bad if it's in great condition.
I bought my 07 zx14 in April 08 for $9K OTD brand new.
I see a few leftover 08's around here that will be riden home for even less
than that with some reasonable dealing.

Little off topic but this might give some perspective. A couple months ago, I was quoted 10,600 from stealer for an 08 busa with 0 miles. I don't think that included tax & all the other jazz. So I would guess he would have quoted ~10,000 for a new 08 ZX-14. If my stealer isn't trying to rape me, I think the 8,000 for an 07 14 sounds like a good price.
