Here I am nine helmets later and my best helmet is Arai Monster Energy last year's model. I barely wear my other helmets now because they don't compare to the fit and finish of the Arai and I have a few Suomys, a few AGVs as well as afew older Shoeis.Lemme tell you how much I like the Arai: When I bout it they brought it out in a box. I had to double check to make sure it was in the box because the box felt too light for a helmet!

I just went to Motorcycle closeouts and got a Bell Star for 199. Regular 549.00. I'll let everyone know what I think when I get it.

+1 I had a shoei RF-1000, it was good until some scumbag cut it off my bike. i got the arai corsair rx -7 hopkins monster helmet and the arai is superior. it is very wind neutral and does't move around or pull up at high speeds like the shoei did. once you try an arai you won't go back. the new one is the rx-v..........you can find deals on the rx-7 now and it is a great helmet!!!!!!!!

Do Not buy any helmet until you are at a shop and can see it in the sunlight next to your bike. Pictures on a PC are not the same. I was told a brand was a "perfect" match so I ordered one and waited for it. Looked good until the sun came up and I placed it on the seat. Returned it and purchased a Shoei RF1000. Kawasaki has a different Metallic spread then most standard metallic colors. I spent way too much time looking for a Perfect match for my ZX........Good Luck.

The one helmet I haven't seen yet is the GMAX. You should have a look at the 68S. The helmet is DOT and Snell approved, quite light and decent graphics. The price is good too. You don't need to spend big money to get a good helmet. The GMAX was the 2008 helmet of the year.

I saw that and went out and tried on a few sizes of the rx7, however they just did not seem to fit me right.

It wasn’t that...my wife started out that way too but I kept her anyway.... My head has some lumps on it caused over the years by my superior intelligence.... It just did not feel right on, like it was trying to pull off my ears from the inside...

yep you have to try them on to see which ones fit you. just like picking out a bike, sit on every one you can find(at the dealership of course) fit is important

I have the RF1000; the helmet has a good price point and a good impact number. Buy a quality helmet for both of you. You can't put a price tag on safety. $1,000.00 over 7 years is money well spent.

Well I am totally impressed with my new Bell Start Recoil blue helmet. It is my first premium lid and I won't be buying less again. I was considering an Arai or Shoei but after a lot of research I went with Bell's new entry. fantastic comfort comes with 2nd set of firm pads and a helmet bag as good as a carry on bag. lot of vents and quick release screen made it clear that the 3 years in development were well spent. Next will be my ride review.
