Where does this bit go?

I was taking the side fairing off today to fit my PC3 and this bit fell out.

Is this the right place for it?

When mine fell off I glued them in place with black automotive RTV sealant. Should reduce the possibility of them falling off again.

great question- a few of mine are still homeless. (RTV is a good idea) I also found out when i got my bike, the right side padding on the fairing was missing. this should be the hot air on the leg problem as these inserts wouldn't fit against anything. Has anybody added additional foam pad to decrease the air blow by? I have a 3ft square of 1" thick HVAC pad that I thought of cutting a 2" strip and placing to the rear of side fairing. yea or nay?

As long as you don't close off the radiator big K shaped evacuation holes, I think you are good to go.
