Money is not the issue if you have $15K

Hmmm,
My wife does have issue with my time in the garage sometimes.
The project has become much more intense than I had initially intended

My work just got retarded again, plus I can't work on it every day or night....

You really should give me a call if you have time,
I just aquired some interesting parts that I don't really want to publicise.

Stan,
My catalyst panels don't have the signals , they were smoothed over, so I am using the Watsons.... I don't think you want a billet piece to fill the big zx14 hole...LOL

I would think you would want your weight low and towards the center of the bike..... So I vote no.

KZScott mentioned this mod to me...who else is running it like that?

I'm not sure how much better it is...the weight is further forward, which is good...but it is also higher up. I'd like to see some really fast bikes that run it that way...

Or else I need to do some math.

Shane

Lyle,

running the brake calipers infront of the forks will also
affect the way the bike turns/ steers IMHO.

One way to find out for sure- try it and see if you like it.

I am going to try it anyway. I already made fender brackets, and modified a gixxer fender.
I asked around, and the guys with stock and short wheel bases liked it for drag racing.
Just sitting still the bars seem to want to fall in more, which will make the steering quicker, so I am thinking stability may be affected some what but thats what the steering damper is for...

If anything a couple hours work, a couple banjo washers, a fender, and it's back to normal.

I like being different
One thing is for sure the calipers will run alot cooler out there.

I would think this mod would be aerodynamicaly prohibitive for LSR and naturally aspirated 1/4 miles, but should help with anything up to 1/8th mile

Mostly stock wheelbase, of any of the bikes that I have seen, but every advantage adds up IMO.

Seen it done on a few on psychobike

No I am not buying Bobs bike.
I would if the dollar was par, then i would make Frankle a pure drag bike.

I have been over the varsol bin and parts washer all morning cleaning engine parts for assembly.
Next will be fitting / filing the new piston rings I just got.

Tomorrow engine assembly begins.
New subframe main spars should be close to complete end of next week.
It will be alumium tube with CF sheeting .... thats the plan anyway.
Frt fender brackets are done along with custom gsxr fender for the frt mounted calipers.

I just bought a 08 gsxr caliper and hanger for $10 on fleabay yesterday.... shipping was $25...LOL

Stan,
Any word on the modified caliper hanger?

Yeah... they said they'll call me when ready to do the caliper hanger.
Still haven't heard from them and not sure I will.

I might just go ahead and mod the oem hanger- it's an easy fix
with the stock zx14 swingarm- I'll probably tackle the project tomorrow.

I'm bringing my bike out next week and just want to get it all done, so
I can put the licence plate in April and finally start my season
