Thankyou Sir!
Shane, Stan
do either of you have a stock 2008 GSXR caliper bracket to measure?

A little disturbing:

More like 28.5 mm on the stock piece.

I have been busy WORKING at home.
The company I am contracted to just let about 50% of the workforce go, without proper handover and training, so the remainder of us are left picking up the pieces and restructuring.
Normally I would ask for a rate increase, but I am glad to be busy right now.
As shitty as it is, it actually is really good news for me because the changes just guaranteed me at least another year of work, enough to keep us busy till the oil reserves dwindle and oil prices come back up.
Motor build begins tonight!

Got the seat recovered after I carved it myself

Anodized some parts

Big ram shifter and 3/8 air lines came in

....... and got some other dumb shit done too...
but I think this thread will soon die, and I will just post pics when its all done.

Here's the oem 07-08 gsx-r1000 rear brake assembly.
The base of the hanger measures in at 28.72 mm!

With a dremel and a good quality caliper,
I enlarged the slots on the stock zx14 swingarm.
I only used the dremel on the lower side to ensure
the height on each side is not compromised.
The 28 mm gsx-r axle fits nicely and allows adjusting
between the first two marks on the chain adjusters,
as I'm looking for the shortest wheelbase on the big girl.
Measuring 1,000 times and going very slow resulted in this:

Make sure the height of the lower guide is equal side to side or else the wheel will be easily tilted.
My hands are not steady enough to do something like that accurately...

The height is equal- I was measuring it as I was going with the dremel
and also really took my time in order to avoid any costly mistakes.
It is a used swingarm from eBay, just in case

Shane,
Exoticycle is not going to machine the custom hanger for another week.
I spoke to them and they're busy with other projects.
On that note- it's not challenging to make the torsion bar on my
oem gsx-r hanger work with the stock 14 swingarm.
Not sure if you have the time to wait or you just want to go ahead
and mod your existinting hanger. I will probably mod my stocker
anyway- seems like a good project.

I'm hoping to actually have the bike rolling by the weekend. I am ordering some spacing shims tomorrow. I want to put everything together and see how my measured spacing fits.
I am going to modify my hanger. Too much waiting and hoping with Exotic, imo. If it doesn't come out right, I'm back to square one. I only have 5 1/2 weeks to get this bike together for the track.

They should get here about the same time I get home next week.
Supply has been extremely slow. Josh called me to tell me they would get shipped this week, and appreciate that, however I had the order in with him for 3-4 weeks now.

My catalyst side panels just showed up in the mail. The holes need to be drilled, and the clutch hole must be cut, as well as the holes for the turbo dump pipe, and the air filter.
The watson lights won't be installed for a while, but I can post a pic compared to the stock frt signal covers in a few days.
The catalyst panels do not have the stock signal light positions molded, they are smoothed over.

Shwew! Pretty hard to imagine me doing all this stuff. I wish It could happen but I don't see having the time. The money isn't much compared to all the time.
Really nice work, everyone..even if it's beyond my comprehension.
