Maybe next year. Perhaps we will retire her boost controller and small turbo, and I will install them on the 14.

It's a Garrett T3. Tough to tell the exact spec. Even with the data plate intact, there are 1000 possibilities. Has made up to 337 hp with S2000 injectors. 312 on the current setup (Hahn Portfueler Secondary Injection), rich mapping, -6 degrees timing. Stock head (except springs), about 19 lbs. of boost.

I'm looking really hard at a secondary rail driven by Microtech standalone ...
I want it to fuel exceptionally well, and tuning a single rail of 550's with 40-100 psi isdifficult to tune I am told.
I need 100+ psi to achieve 500HP, and 650cc injetors are terrible to tune off boost ... again i have been told.
The single rail and 550 would be excellent choice for ~400 HP though.
No bites on any of this really nice stuff yet.

I think you will definitely need a secondary setup if you want streetability. The Busa was switched from S2000's due to street manners.
I can't afford a Turbo setup right now, or I would be all over that stuff..
Maybe try over on Psychobike?

I'll be sure to bother you about it then. If it weighs 20 or more lbs., I might pick up a donor.

Looking at ways to make the bike survive the street with bigger boost,
i have been contemplating using the same knock sensor BRP uses on my sled to retard timing.
Works realy well on the sled, simply pulls timing.
I could do this with the SB6
Pic of sensor:

its really small.
size of a silver dollar, and about 1/2" thick
Item #10
uses 6mm bolt , just need to find good place on the head for it.

How much boost are you planning on running off of the spring?
There is really not enough traction on the street for high boost, imo. We only run 6 lbs. on Racheals and it is more than adequate.

traction and fuel will be the only limitation for the street
since I can program 4 boost maps into the ams1000
gear based for street, and time based for the track
I also have water injection to assist.
Getting the motor together and back into the frame is only going to consume about 1/4 of the time it will take to get everything wired and placed appropriatley, especially since I have the shortened harness to complete, and the different tail section details to do, a custom fuel system, and crankcase breather catch can to contend with.
At least I have more space to play with since the stock battery will be free to do what I need with.

Lyle,
I've got a couple of questions for you:
1. What black paint do you use for the touch ups on your frame?
I want to get rid of my center stand mounts and the oem 14 fender
brackets on the forks.
2. Are you planning on using longer sprocket bolts with the added 4 mm plate?
I wonder how reliable using the stock lenght bolts would be.
Don't quote me on this, but I think the Busa cush hub on the gixer wheel
will offset the sprocket exactly as the oem 14 setup... needs machining though.
Someone on the gixer forums also claimed that the gen 2 Busa rear axle in the 280 mm
is lighter than the gen 1 unit... I noticed you use the gen 1 with the cotter pin and larger
axle nut...
I'm getting carried away here... LOL...
paint and bolts answers PLEASE!
Thanks

I used some matte black paint I had laying around in the garage! LOL
Its way down there and won't be seen, or will be shadowed anyway.
The stock studs in the cush hub were long enough, the entire nut is on there.
Totally safe.
No cotter pins in my MacIntosh axle... not busa or gsxr axle.
Anytime Stan

Hey Lyle, when Terry assembles the axles, does he use loctite on the fixed side? I haven't tried to take mine apart, but it seems locked in place. I don't want to really crank down on it if it has been threadlocked.
I will end up having to drill and pin both sides, due to safety tech at Maxton.

I have a busy week ahead.
I will spend most of the day tomorrow ordering parts.
1) I have to weld up the frame holes as well.
2) modify the crankcase vent into the airbox, rerouting the tube into a catch can, and weld it shut in the box.
3) finnish up brakes and tail section
4) test fit clip ons under the top clamp
5) Assemble engine
6) hang the motor
7) hang the turbo
8) re route and modify wiring harness,
9) Figure out auxillary ams1000, sb6, bazzaz , water injection, knock sensor componenets layout and wiring.
Really the big hits will be waiting for the proseal rings, catch can, and sourcing a 2nd fuel rail with Microtech stand alone to drive the extra 4 injectors,
I don't think they will make here in time.
I also have the turbo busa waiting for the arm from the chrome shop, and some rod bearings, I need to fab the gsxr tail section for it and install the brakes too.
Basically the only thing I have done with it, is the GSXR frt end, dissassemble engine.
It will also need alot of attention if parts show up.

Well,
I will likely get #4 and be stuck
I probably won't get to my motor
The rings probably won't get here in time.
I hope the busa swing arm is done, and bearings show up. I will likely get the ohlins shock and arm on it, busa engine assembled, motor in turbo hung....

Lyle,
any updates on the Speedcell batteries?
I know you got a few, but I also guess you could have only
tested them in your V-max or KTM... if you had any time that is.
Any feedback yet? I'm dying to get one you know LOL

I'm also likely to get one of these. I think I am going to cancel installing the front mount battery box, and thow my Odyssey in the stock location for now.
