Until the new Busa starts to dominate the 14 (stock for stock), I personally don't see many changes. Thats just my opinion.

None dominates the other as of now.
How will that change if the bikes remain the same?

both bikes are hyper fast. the manufacturers do not want to fan the anti bike sentiment by creating more lethal weapons. also change costs money, and today's economic picture does not bode well for an increased r&d budget. in other words more of the same with some sublte refinements.

I could see one stocker dominating the other with a few factory tweaks that might be done in upcoming years.>>Sort of like how the idea that the 09 ZX-14 has better mapping than the 08 sometimes gets mentioned.
As of now, I think the busa is dominating. Not by much, but a little. Most notabley, IMO, the 1.5 seconds to top speed advantage the busa has over the 14. Also, the busa's power curve seems to climb just about up to redline before it starts to flatten where the 14's starts to go flat at about 8.5-9K. <
What say you all??

I think they ought to leave it alone. It doesn't really need anything. That way it will keep the price down and parts will interchange between the years. It sucks when you can't get a new exhaust system for a bike because it's outdated.

^^^^^Even worse, it's downright cost prohibitive to upgrade to a new and better 14 every two years. I'm all for leaving it alone and then releasing a totally upgraded, revamped machine after several years. Sucks to be one of the guys who bought in the final year of production before the upgrade though. That'll piss you off.

I agree with ZX-11D but I might put a 40% of getting ABS. New Paint and new ZX-10 but that should cover it for Kawasaki.

^^^Good prediction on the ABS ZX-14 for 2010. I was amazed at how much that weighs down the CBR 1000. I don't think I'd ever choose ABS, though it would be fun to try it out sometime.

I'd like to see them bump compression up to 12.5:1.
Doesn't matter, through. 2010 will be the year of the 10.

Here's my prediction for 2010 -- It's gonna snow all winter. My bikes'll be stuck in my garage all winter just like they are right now with 6' of snow outside. That's my prediction.
On another note - My ZX and my Connie have been sitting with no charger on either of them since mid October in 45 degrees in my garage. Today, I started both of them for the hell of it. They cranked right over like they never stopped running! Gotta love Kawaski!

This IS KHI.
Easy to predict.
The Connie and other Models didnt change much for 20 freakin yrs.!!!!
New paint and minor tweaks forever. Same as they have done since the 1st 14.
I cant imagine how hard hit the heavy industry side is.
You think they gonna spend R&R money on our model is this $$ climate?
And the aftermarket aint gonna come out with much for such a limited production model either.
I see the $$ still going to finding new intro bikes and 600/ 1000 development.
Revised the 600
different 650's & 250's
EFI on MXers
New paint for the 14
Thats the ball game folks.
There will be no answer to the new Vmax or B king.

^^^^^ I agree
If gas prices go up again, kawi stomped the competition with the 250s. They want to be able to produce enough for demand this time, because they left a lot of money on the table with not being able to produce enough 250s. I would say they are going to concentrate on making smaller beginner type bikes, plus revamping the race bikes (zx6/10). Although, it would be EASY for them to make a 12.5:1 compression piston. That would increase a couple horsepower very easily...

I suspect Kawi will pull their "R" (race bikes) out of even more competitions in 2010 (in addition to MotoGp), and sales will be down and about 2011 they realize the mistake get back into racing.

When will they just give up on bigger cc's and go to turbos, like they did with the old GPZ750. It has got to come to this eventually.

My 2010 prediction: new busa loses a few pounds, and gets a mild redesign that leaves it looking MUCH nicer. Not so much a prediction as a fact, as I got this leaked photo:

ZX14 riders better watch out for these hitting the track. Don't wanna be losin no pink slip races to this bad boy!
