New addition
My dad finally saw the light and as of today he's the proud owner of a black and orange 2009 zx14! Went to the bank and signed papers today, so he'll giving up his white M109R and picking up the new bike either tomorrow or saturday. I'm anxious to take leave and put my 07 up against the 09. I have a feeling that it's going to be pretty ugly considering the fact that he's been drag racing bikes for like 30 years or someshit. I better hope that It takes him a while to get used to riding a sportbike lol.

If he wasn't an idiot and knew how to check his oil then he wouldn't overfill it and it wouldn't puke. He really had no problems out of it and it ran 7.40's in the 1/8th bone stock... but after keeping my bike while I was on deployment he was hooked.
As for saying that you've got faith in me... that's some faith. He went a 6.05 @ 122 on my bike in showroom stock trim. I guess that's what thousands of passes, being 5'5" tall, and weighing 140-145 in shorts gets you. Asshole lol

lol I know... Here's a picture of the little jockey lol. He's the one that got me into racing. It's pretty cool that When I go home I get to race with my dad and my grandpa. The picture is of him on my grandpa's 1175 BSA rocket3 dragbike from the 70's that we recently got back.

Grandpa has some crazy stories about that bike. They're probably a bunch of windy tales lol, but it's still funny to hear him tell them. It's also funny to watch his 5'4" 240 lb ass go to the track and spank 600 crotch rockets in the 1/8th on a stratoliner running pro tree and cutting damn near perfect lights.

My Dad got me into bikes , he said NO car for you boy, you will start off on a bike like i did ..My dad and i were like oil and water , we never did mix ..But I loved that Man and still miss him , he died in Dec 1994 at 79 just a day short of 80 years old ..
Every time i got a new bike he would come look at it and i would take him for a ride , he liked my Vmax the best because of the V engine .. He was an old HD rider so Vs were right up his alley ..
This was his brand new 1936 HD

Congrats to pops! 6.05 showroom stock? WOW that would put him around a 9.20 in the 1/4. Must be some sort of record for a bone stock bike. Shit brocks pro riders were hitting those numbers with a full exhaust, slammed, race fuel and pc3.

It was a one time run where all of the stars aligned. He had been running anywhere from 6.60 up on it. When he launched on that run, the owner of the track said that he knew it was a perfect run. After that, he was never able to run it again because I got home from deployment and took the bike back to san diego. I was able to make a 6.40 @117 pass here at the qualcomm track in showroom stock trim before being banned for breaking their speed limit. The bike is capable... it's just too hard to ride bone stock. Hell, if I can run 6.41 @113 at altitude with a strap, bones and a 16t I'm sure I can get it damn near into the 5's in texas where there's good air and I weigh 185 in shorts... imagine someone 40 lbs less with more experience.

Awesome ! Not many people can drag race with their dad , much less with their dad and grandfather. You are very fortunate and I am jealous !! Good luck to your dad with his new zx14 ! They sure are pretty.

My pop will be 82 in febuary and we still race together. He still gets excited when we go to the track. He isn't a spectator either, he still puts me in the groove. I can't emagine what it would be like without him with me. I am thankfull every day to still have him here. I suspect racing without him will not be the same when that day comes

Racing is definately a family sport , and a family tradition! I still don't know how I pulled off that 6.05 on Chads bike ? Best I mustered out of my 09 showroom stock was 6.34 I think! Coulda been the new Tomahawk on his hooked better than the stock Bridgestone on my 09 ? Also my runs on his bike was here at Paris Drag Strip , which only re-opened in mid summer after I got my bike , and my showroom stock runs were at Redline Raceway ? Took a pipe , PC , gearing , and stretch to pull 5.85 LOL? Looking forward to doing a little Father and Son racing soon!

lol, the first time that we raced he was on his m109r and it was my first time to ever take a bike down the track. The first run was pretty comical to tell you the truth. It's pretty amazing that these bikes will run a 7.30 on a 10 oclock wheelie lol. He almost beat me on that one! after that it was a steady drop into the 6's with a best of 6.7X that night on like 1.7-1.8 60fts lol. After I figured out that you can't launch it the same way you do a drag banshee I was golden . I'm trying to make it back to texas this spring whether i drive in and pull the bike, or end up having to fly in. the good thing about having a dad with the exact same setup as me is that we both have a dragbike in different places and whoever goes to visit the other can always share a bike at the track lol.
