I am thinking one should choose their exhaust depending on what is most important to them. CIKI stated: "This is my daily mule, touring, and occasional track bike when I want to rest the 636." According to Ivan's Performance the full Yoshi makes 2 more peak HP than the Tsukigi and doesn't have the mid-range drop, and Ivan sells both exhaust.

Brocks is a great choice for racing but when I got my full Yoshi last month every Brock system I heard was too loud for what I wanted. My Yoshi came with a removable rear inner tube that reduces the sound by about 3 dB. When I say this thing is quiet I mean very close to stock quiet.

I used to drag race bikes in the 70's but I don't anymore. 35 years ago I would have picked the Brocks, now I choose the Yoshi. The cost didn't enter into the choice for me.

I too Drag Raced a Lot many years ago and Brocks makes the HP, but Really too loud for me now. My friend has Yoush TRC and our other friend has a Brock Alien Head system and map. When they do a 70MPH 6th gear roll on the Yoush (from Ivan)will slowely pull away until about 7000 RPM then the brock starts make a move on him. Both are up 1 tooth on the rear. The TRC is really mellow and Not loud. I emailed Brock today and he is sending me Dyno charts for the Gen 3 system with 20 inch oval muffler. Steve at Brocks said it was Not as Loud. I need to here this Gen3 system before I sell or give away the Muzzy slip on that were on the ZX when I got it..:-)

Most of the members that have posted on this topic are Drag races First, and then they ride the streets....cool but after 30 years of Loud Bikes and $$ on tickets Mid range HP and torque and not so loud are what I am looking for. And the Yoshi is Polished really good and with a carbon fiber can that will look good on my Metallic Black 07.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I don't drag and have no need for those types of systems. Money and noise aren't the issue. I'm looking at durability long term and a real weight savings from the stock system.

Steve from Brocks emailed me more information on the Gen 3 421 system with the 20 inch oval muffler. For $40.00 more they will polish the mid pipe that connects to the muffler under the rear foot peg. He assured me this mid pipe and longer muffler was a LOT quiter than the Alien Head was only 2 HP peak less and has great Mid range.

Buy a Brocks , if its too loud for your little virgin ears( for all the "its going to be too loud people") get a noise reduction plug!! Be a little upset that you spent so much money until you ride it and realize how much shit it has now!! Then you have no worries because you have the best customer service if you ever have a problem or question. You bought the fastest bike out there why not put the fastest pipe on it???

Brocks, Brocks,Brocks,ohhhhhhh Brocks.
Brocks pipes are good but you guys need to wipe off your chins.....

When theres 3 or 4hp between pipes it comes down to rider skill and weight.

But i did just buy a brocks sidewinder

Since you are looking for long term durability you should stay away from carbon fiber. If the muffler has any gaps in the packing the exhaust can melt the CF resin.

The nature of all fiberglass packed mufflers is they start getting louder around 5-8K miles and will need re-packing if you want to keep the original sound.

When there are 3 or 4 hp between pipes it comes down to customer service... That my friend is why everyone is sold on brocks. No one else can touch him in customer service.

I have a Muzzy 4-1 with the carbon fiber can. Just turned 20,000K and you are right. It is a lot louder now then when first installed. Any advise on what the best material is to repack. Advise from those who have actually repacked a Muzzy can preferred!
Thanks

I have repacked many D&D carbon silencers ( I was Sales Manager) and the Muzzy is the same. Oval CF are harder to repack without the mandrel and jig fixture to hold it with cracking it. It can be done with a soft rubber mallet and a wooden shaft, lol.
Call Muzzy for a repack kit with new rivets and packing, PM me it is a harder than you think. You can bend the baffle/core so easy if you do not push the core thru straight. Also the CF gets hard and brittle so be carefull with it too. I sold a lot of CF sleeves to customers ($100.00)who thought they could do this with out the tooling that was made to do this.

The safe way is to send it to Muzzy and if they screw up you get a new one.

Thanks Lab3, for the advice. I think I will start by contacting Muzzy. Good suggestion.
