Does this look like a macintosh swingarm?

I think Im ready to get an extended swingarm. I was thinking of having a stocker extneded, but id rather have a nice arm that already has a bottle bracket and clearance for the fuel pump. I really like the style of this arm. Do multiple company's make arms that look like this?



Is there any drawback to this style arm? I like it because it looks so slim

that's an adams performance arm. i have a mc intosh arm, but i wonder about the weight diff. the adams looks lighter.

I just sent a stock arm to be modified by Spencer Cycle. Although the Adams arm looks light, I'm not sure that it would be adequate for torsional loads encountered on the street, or at Maxton. The Adams arms also use bushings (no bearings), and that sounds like a high wear item to me.

I also was not overly happy with the fact that Adams cuts the cross brace for the nitrous bottle. That would seem to weaken the arm additonally for the twisting type loads. It seems that underbracing would be a good idea with one of these arms.

That's the Adams Performance Chromemoly Strong Arm and weighs 13 lbs...

It uses the oem bearings for mounting...

To see this piece in person, it's even nicer!!!

I say it's the best constructed chromemoly arm out there, Coby doesn't fool around!!!

13 lbs is damn light... 1/2 the weight of some of the others, but it looks it too...

My Alumipro McIntosh arm is a piece of art, and I would bet money the frame twists before the arm!

Dub, that is a nice arm too...

Since we're not on that other site, I can ask this question!!!

Who is the origonal engineer of that arm, since 3 companies use it???


Trac or McIntosh, Velocity has their name on it too !!!

I have ran Macintosh's arms for years. There are a few things that you will get with his arm that you don't with the others: Terry will call you back the same day usually if he doesn't answer himself, Terry also builds a cradle to hold your nitrous bottle instead of using clamp this is fairly important especially when nitrous bottles cost what they do. I had a Trac arm on my 10 and it was nice except for the clamp style bottle holder but Trac told me 6 weeks and it was almost 16 before it showed up. I have never had a arm from Velocity but I did have one of their turbos and trying to get ahold of Berry is a chore, he is very busy and your on the list to be called back along with everyone else. Another thing that is not huge but matters, when you get your arm from Terry it is ready to mount, the bearings are already installed just add some grease and go. Just my two cents.

I ordered my Adams arm, which was in stock Ill have it before the weekend. Ill post up pics when it comes in.

My bank account pretty much looks like I took financial advice from mc hammer and gary coleman lol. I don't see myself dropping 1200 dollars on a swingarm, and chain anytime soon lol.

you can ride just fine on 6 over... anything over that is pushing it. wanna hear something that might sting a little? a swingarm just popped up in the classifieds today for 800 shipped.

With the tens of thousands of bikes I've encountered in the twisties here in SoCal over the years I've never seen one with stretching that didn't basically crawl through the good turns.

I know it has its place for some stright-line racers, but it does limit the riding on those kind of roads. If you live in FLA it is probably perfect.....

SoCAL huh? WHen are you going to make it down to san diego so that we can hit a few twisties and make some passes at Barona? If all goes well, I'll have a set of leathers soon and I'll be able to do some 1/4 mile racing at Fontana and Famoso.

I know someone that had the Adams swingarm like the one in the photo, it broke at the shock mount, Adams replaced it with a new design, and it was on a 06 ZX14.

Did it cause a crash? JB is right- that is a thin noodle of a thing.
The BST wheels have me drooling though... with all rotors back on.
