Who has removed the charcoal cansiter and related hardware???

Im wanting to run a 2 or 2.5lb nitrous bottle under the catalyst drag seat, and it seems like it will work. But I wll need to get rid of the charcoal canister. And I dont want to do this the wrong way. I have heard that you can implode the gas tank if done wrong. Would the easiest way to do this be just to remove the canister and put the in and out line together? I really have no idea. I will have the gas tank off today while installing the nitrous/air shifter kit so I will have access to all of the lines.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

thanks

Sean

Ive talked to a few people about this now, and here is what I have come up with. There are 2 lines that come off of the gas tank. One is a vent and the other is in case you over fill the gas tank. So I was planning on running both of these lines to the ground since I only have a couple of gallons in the tank at a time. And then remove the canister that is under the seat and the can that is behind the subframe, pull all of the lines and cap the lines that went to the throttle bodies.

Sound good?

Well here is where Im at. There are actually 3 lines that come off the tank. The one on the left vents to the ground stock, and there is the one with the blue dot and one with the red dot(which is the fuel overflow, when I pulled this one off there was some fuel in that line).

So I was planning on leaving the left vent tube on the tank, and just leaving the blue and red dot open. Im not sure if these should be capped or not? As long as I dont over fill the gas tank I dont think that I will have any problems with that?

And then 2 lines ran up to the throttle bodies for a vacume source. One put vacume into the charcoal canister, and the other put vacume to the bottom of the small round can that hides behind the subframe. I removed these lines from the throttle bodies and capped the nipples. Hope thats all I need to do.

If anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me in on them

I would say all those should vent to atmosphere. Don't cap any if they went to the ground or canister.

The square one is the canister and the small round one is the seperator. Cap both vacume sources at the throttle bodies.........( just like you did ) Good job.............:thumnbup

I guess it wouldn't hurt to run hoses to the ground from all three nipples. Better than any fuel getting on anything hot. Good job Sean.
