Small LED Lighting??
Does anyone know of a small, light, LED lighting unit that I could use in place of a single headlight? I'm looking for something small and very light, with enough output to help when I have drive the bike up into the trailer at the track.
Any leads appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure if you want to replace the headlight (weight saving), and you just need 'something' to light up the area for loading / unloading etc. But the 3W Luxon head strap torches are fairly bright, 50% as bright as a 50w halogen down light - but narrower beam.
With their elasticated straps, put two together and it'd be nice to slip them on and off when needed. Pretty tough as well. Also handy to pop it on your head for general walking a round if its dark etc.
3W version: Ebay 360118975169
5W, 75ft beam that would do the job, but pricey: Ebay 400016303409
If you are after to keep the headlight housing etc, then these guys might be able to help as they do LED headlights as well.

Thanks for the leads. I am actually looking for something that I can mount to the bike, within the fairing area. A very small unit to permanently mount.

Perhaps trying replacing the city lights with some ultrabright leds. The big 10mm Radio Shack White leds are pretty bright. It will take a little fab work though, they aren't plug and play...

I want to make some 12v led strip lights candles with these and mix them in with the pvc kind. I can't wait to g4 led bulbs melt some hot glue on the container and see how well the votive still shines through.
The tube is rather pliable and I am curious to rgb led controller see if the hot glue melts it a bit.

Go to JP cycles website and look at the Acerbis headlight unit, it's got 2 x 20w high beams and two strips on each side of ten led's. I'm not sure about the candlepower, but I'm guessing it's pretty bright.
Audi is using led headlights on their cars now and I guess they beat the shit out of the Halogens.

I dont know if you can get them in white or not, but if you can it may be an option. There is a set in the classifieds currently but they are red.
