17/40 gearing and clutch spacer results (9.28)

Just got in from the track today. These changes made a big difference and it was almost like learning how to ride it all over again. The DA was a bit better than last time out which scews my results a bit, but going 1 down in the rear definitely made it easier to get to wot faster in first. My best 1/8th mph before was 121 and today I was able to pull 124. But it also made it a bit harder to get off the line, before my best 60 was a 1.50 but consistently between 1.51-1.53's and today my best was a 1.52 but consistently 1.54-1.57's. Im sure that with another day or two out on it I can get the 60's back down again.

I ran two 9.28's and here is what my best pass reads

1.556

4.050

6.059 @ 123.031mph

7.793

9.283 @ 151.785mph

Neither of these passes felt perfect so Im sure there is a little bit left.

Here are a few pics from today.

The most I've seen, from a supposedly stock motor is about 157 mph, and almost 129 at the 1/8th. That was with a pro rider, maybe 150 lbs..on a 64" bike.

At first I didn't believe that motor could be stock, but seeing your results at your weight, I'm starting to think it may have been.

Yes the bike was harder to launch, it wanted to stand up right off the line. But I think that was because I was trying to ride it like I would have before the springs and gear change.

Im using all 5 of the .180 spacers.

Im thinking of taking them out and trying just the gear change next time. Thats how I should have done it, one thing at a time.

Nice ET's

You'll get less clutch longevity with a 40 in the back, but that's the way it goes until you get use to / practice with the changes you made!!!

With the adjuster at the end what's the wheelbase now???
