Maybe they're just trying to clear them out since kawi changed the design in 08 and are obviously not going back?

I call Yoshi and they are closed until Monday. I have to find out if their system will clear the stock optional center stand. They sell a silencer for that muffler that puts out 93-94.5 dB. I haven't seen any other companies loudness stats.

Do those M4s still have the quiet core inserts in them? There are silver cones with holes in them and a screw holding them in place. See my photo.
I have M4s with quiet cores in, flies out, PCIII also. Sure my bike is loud, but I think that nearly all Harleys are louder. I sat next to a couple Harleys at a stop light last week and I couldn't here my own bike.

Yea, a tube with lots of holes and the far end almost closed off like a pie cut into three pieces.

You're right, it's not the loudest bike on the road but due to the overly zealous police in my area and the fact that I can't get a major ticket for a while the last thing I want to do is call attention to myself. It's 40 miles to work each way and I am tired of the hassle with the cops.

Yeah. i live in Salem, OR and work at MotoSport in Portland, so it's a 80mile commute each day for me. Have you seen the Eclipse licence plate frames we sell? Lol, no more tickets. Haha.

Twisted, I got my Black 14 at Factory Motor Sports in Oregon City a week ago. For a second there I thought that was a picture of my bike. It has a smoked Double Bubble and there was something attached to the triple clamp because the Techmount base is still there. Small differences I can see are mine has a center stand, Buell pegs , rear chrome grab handle and a different brand of frame sliders.

i dont wear ear plugs and with my boz bros it takes me about 10 min to get my hearing back...

You should consider wearing them then or you might regret it when your hearing is permanently damaged.

Any time you hear a hissing or ringing in the ears after exposure to a loud noise you have done some damage. It adds up over time and is not recoverable.

I buy a large bag of disposable ear plugs, really cheap to buy in bulk, when a pair get dirty just throw them away. A big bag lasts a whole year. If you can afford it you can get moulded ones custom made for you which are even better. Don't take risks with your hearing.

I never wear earplugs either, I probably should....I just get quieter pipes instead. I like to be able to hear whats going on around me

I bought a '06 last week with flies removed, PC111 and M4 slip-ons among a long list of things done to it. I love the sound but the cops in the Tacoma area where I work are very tough. My daily driver is a lowered '88 CRX with 225hp and I get pulled over about every 4 months for no reason. The last time was at night and the cop said "I couldn't read your license plate", and it had a light on it.

The original owner of the bike got 2 speeding tickets with it and I think the loud pipes didn't help. The point is, there is no way I am going to get away with that muffler.

The guy gave me the stock mufflers but they weight a ton. Is there a lightweight muffler for these bikes that don't make a lot of noise?

I live in Tacoma too, and I've had no problem with the cops. My Tsukigi has no more muffler packing in it, and I also have an 8 inch race muffler that is louder then a school bus full of screaming children. I've never been hassled.

I know that there are some Loud ass bikes in Puyallup as well. When my brother was living there he had a neighbor with a blacked out 06 busa running a sidewinder. That thing was ridonculous.

When I picked up my Yosh CF System in July, I paid 1149.00 + Tax for it, out the door installed with power commander it was closer to 2K.

For those that have picked one up on the cheep excellent… but even at 2K installed I think it was a great deal, and you really can’t beat the fit and finish (and for those of us that drive our bikes on the street where “loud” mufflers draw big tickets… In my view this is the pipe to get.

If I was living somewhere were the law was a little more flexible or forgiving or I primarily rode my bike on the track (or ever on the track), I would look for MAX HP Gain, and Muzzy or Brock would be at the top of my list.

07zx14blk, did you get your bike tuned with a custom map or are you using the standard dynojet map supplied on their website?

Big Blue,

They don’t have a map for fly’s in… or at least they did not have a map during the summer. As it stands I am still using the generic map for a full system provided by Fuel Moto.

Next Question… am I happy with it – No , but it really is not to bad I am just real picky.

My plan is to pull the fly’s over the winter and remap the PC, then when the snow melts try it out and see how it reacts, if I don’t like it I will drop the 300 on a custom map.
