we only have 8th mile track in sturgis and i have not ran my 240 yet this year but its fun going to grudge matches on wed nights its like a test and tune but funner. not many bikes racing here. and cant run with a car but for 20 bucks you can get in line all night and run down the track 5 hours or so its fun i spin out alot with the 190 tire hoping to get better time with my 240

that 240 is not going to better ur times by ne means, u shouldve changed ur 190 tire to a stickier tire, mayb a shinko or power one or whatever they call it, a 180 shinko ultra soft was like 130 or some shit, just cause the 240 is wider the contact patch is not really that much more than a 190 wit 16 to 21psi in it. I shouldve stretched n ran mine before the conversion then i would know exactly what is the difference with the wide tire,

i have a extra stock swingarm and a avon attack 240 tire. (not installed on bike yet) with the tire standing on the floor the bead width is just a hair more than 8.5", it came off 18x8.5 RC Comp wheel, when it was mounted the side wall was even with the lip of the wheel, when you put the tire in the swingarm you have approx. 1/8" clearance side to side with the tire all the way forward. with that being said, there is no way that the tire is going to be offset to one side unless the swingarm is.
and the bump to 18 is because you cant get a 240mm tire in a 17. 330mm is a 17.

My 240 does rub the tire lip if the chain gets too loose, all in all though, i'm happy with it n i run it as fast as everybody else do on the highway, still workin on getting fast in the 1/4, lol, but as far as a 240 on a 14 i wouldnt think it would slow that beast up much, with the amount of torque n hp that thing puts out i believe whoever does it will be happy, plus as wide as the 14 ass end is u need more meat back there to look good, unless ur bike looks like shanes, that is one sexy bike, please dont go the catalyst body, ur bike looks awesome just as it sits!!!!!!!

I dont want my bike slower because of extra weight but, I do like the look of a wider wheel on the zx14. It makes the tail section of the bike look proportional and overall bad ass!
