09 zx14 what a suprize...
Last night a group of us Tampa Bay guys went riding .. In the group was Steves R1 , Two Busas , one older model and one new 08 .. And a Brocked out 07 zx14 ... My 09 mods are lowering links .. Well after hitting ybor city for some pizza we headed back home and to get home we have to cross a 4 mile bridge... I didn't race the 08 Busa because i had allready kicked his ass on my 06 zx14 and he didn't want any part of me ... But to my suprize the 07 Brocked out zx14 did.. He rolled up to me at about 55 or 60 MPH and gave me that look ...I heard him down gearing so i kicked it down into 3rd gear from 6th ..All i could hear was his Alien Head exhaust blasting while i could not even hear my bike with the stock cannons ...He took the jump and put about 2 bikes on me before i pinned the throttle . I was thinging that there was no way i could out run a Brocked out bike with a stock zx14 with 150 mile on the clock ...Every gear i changed i closed the gap between us ..By 5th i had put a bike on him and was still pulling away ..
After the race we pilled into a gas station and i told him i was suprized that i beat him , he said he couldn't believe a stocker just out ran him .. I could not have been happier ...Then the shit hit the fan !!!!!!!!! As we where talking an SUV lost controll right in front of us !! The guy over corrected his SUV and flipped right on front of us !!!! Now here comes the bad part , the guy gets ejected out of the passenger window and we see the hole damn thing as the SUV rolls right over the guy !!! The SUV drags the guy while pinned under the hood and roof .. The SUV spits him out after dragging him about 50 feet ... I have never seen anything like this in my life other than the fake suff on TV and movies ... We could not leave because the police roped of the gas station of about an hour , once we were able to leave i headed home at a very slow pace feeling sick the hole way home ... I have no clue if this guy lived but my guess is there was a good chance he didn't .. Thank god there was nobody else in the car ..
This is something i never want to see again... PUT on your seat belt !!! If this guy had his seat belt on he might have walked away with a cool story for his grand kids..

I saw a guy on a zx12 without a helmet loop his bike at about 70mph while i was at the carwash one night. It sounded like someone dropped a watermelon when his head hit the ground. He didn't make it. I think that that guy just fell victim to a lightweight rider and stock gearing. Either that, or you always manage to get the fastest bike made for the particular year.

I'd agree with bawls,
except 5th gear lightweight really don't matter so much as the tuck...
2nd gear vice versa...
we want numbers...
Even if he was half good at shifting, Lee is still waaay fast and light.....

Well we talked about the weight .. We came up with a 20 pound difference between us , me being 20 pounds lighter ... I have to say this 09 runs better than my 06 when it was stock.. I'm sure the quicker flys on the 09 are a big help ...Maybe kawi did some remapping on the 09 over the 08 ..We will have to wait till we see what the 09s do on the dyno ..

I seen a car roll in a ditch after running off the road and over correcting right in front of me about a year ago. A girl about 18 in the passenger side was ejected like 15ft in the air and 30yds out SCREAMING until she hit the ground. I have seen some bad dirtbike wreaks but that was the crazies shit i have ever seen! I had my cellphone out of my pocket before she hit the ground.

Horrible SUV story though. I've never seen a fatality before and I don't want to. I can understand how it would fuck your head up for awhile like you said it did yours. I'm sorry you had to see that man, because you'll never forget it.

There's a green 09 that's outside of the local dealership over here in Cocoa, I can't help but stare everytime I pass, not gonna give up my 07 blue for it, but it definatly get's you're attention, when you see a wreck like that in person, you can't believe it, movies don't do it justice, lad he didn't go into the gass station.

i have an 06 14 and just picked up an 09 as well
the 06 comes in at 174.6 hp and 112.1 tq
My 09 feels faster off the line in its stock form then the modded 06 does, i only have 48 miles on it now and the 09 and already have a full muzzy and pc3 and tre and when its time to dyno it and custom map i have a good feeling its going to come in higher then 174 horse....just my personal experience.

Went to valdosta this weekend there was a stock 09 black and orange,looked totally stock except extensions running 9.80's.the guy looked to weigh about 230 and I dont think he was a pro.

IF he has the Brock setup he's probably geared also.
That would explain why you would pulled him after he max the speedo. 189 - gear offset.

08-09 are the same bikes numbers wise. When I got my 08. I raced my friend who has a 2006 14 with all the toys quick shifer, one down and two up and a muzzys full system. all mind had was the files removed. and we did a roll on and i beat him from start to finished.
So don't be surprized at all.

Or you can do some research here and do it yourself 
But for those that are afraid to do it yourself, then take it to your local shop!!!

He was 16/41 mine was stone stock ... . He let off at 155 after i passed him ...Speedo recall ( yellow box ) showed his top speed at 155 ..

I was in 3rd but he was in 2 ... I should have dropped back to second gear but i couldn't hear my motor over his so i just went back to 3rd... I was thinking that i didn't have a chance anyway .. I just wanted to see how much he would pull me with his mods ..Other than his jump at the start it was all 09 GREEN zx14 ...

Here are my 09 ZX-14 numbers, compared to my 08 ...
I went riding this past weekend with I think a 067 or 07 Busa in the mix. Wasn't even a close match, he kept fading in my mirror until i got off at 130-ish. No use pushing more when he didn't have any more.

Looks like a solid 3 hp thru the power band.
Easily within the bike to bike difference.
Not saying the 09 is not better, but show me why or dyno result.

wow... crazy accident!
I saw something like that once... guys in a stolen car ran a red in front of me and hit a mail van, spun it around, mail van flipped onto its side and spun like a top shooting mail everywhere as it slid down the street... stolen car spun out of control and ran into the side of a brick office building... guys jumped out and ran... was crazy... cops everywhere, EMT ... mail everywhere.. mail guy was shocked but okay... looked just like a Terminator movie or something!

Again, with that dyno sheet. That 09 is leaner than the 08. Lean out that 08 the same and it'll make the same hp.

wouldn't the lower gearing on the 07 actually hurt roll on with the torque a 14 makes?
